Best game 2010, biggest Flop?
THE END IS NEAR
The end of the year of course. We came across many CBs, OBs and p2p accidents. Tell me onrpg, which game was the best one this year? And which one was the biggest flop? And why?
My personal top: Vindictus. Fast-paced non-target action with shiny skills and nice graphics.
Flop: FFXIV. After so many bad reviews i didn't even bother to buy it anymore

Well, Vindictus is obviously at the top. Flops? Hmmm. This was a bad year for F2P MMORPGs, huh? A bunch of them closed or are in process of being shut down. N.E.O by OGP, LaTale EU by Aeria Games, etc.

As far as i remember, Vindictus has been most 'stable', id say this is my top for the year.
Biggest flop for me, FFXIV. Being one of the FF fans, im quite dissapointed

Well aside from having the minimum requirements to actually run it. You can sign up for the Chinese version nearly effortlessly.

To me? Allods Online pre-patch 1.1.0, I'd consider it among the best F2P MMOs I have ever played.
Flop? Heroes of Three Kingdoms, Jade Dynasty... or pretty much everything PWI has released this year sans Forsaken World.

Id say top FFXIV... I like it despite its bad launch, the new patch shows where the game is heading.. and its looking great for the game.. lots of players and lots of fun.

Anyways, for me, biggest flop would be.......hmm......I'll have to agree with previous posters and say FF. It had an absolutely terrible start, hopefully it gets better.

Well, as commercial flop I'd say APB. So much invested into the game, in the end RTW just threw the game away, wtf? At least SE is trying to save FFXIV, the late november patch actually fixed quite a few things.
As personnal experience, I'd say LOCO. The basic idea seemed really great, but in the end it has so many flaws.
I don't really have a "best" 2010 game, nothing really enjoyed me so long beside older games.
I can't say Vindictus as I can't play it yet, sad euros

Best F2P is 100% Vindictus. Best P2P is STILL WoW and def. will be with cataclysm.
Biggest flop..... Final Fantasy. I kind of feel bad for square, they wasted so much money.

Well I did play BoI for a little and I didn't think it felt that bad actually. Don't know if I will have the feeling to return again, but I had some fun here and there.

Top game for me is probably Vindictus even though I barely play it.
Biggest flop is anything released by PWE. BoI was the stupidest game i've ever played, Ether Saga is just a dumbed down kid version of PW, Jade Dynasty is just a combination of the three other games.
Dunno about FW though, it actually looks moderately decent.

Tough choice, but I'd have to say my favorite game that came out this year is still Cardmon Hero, and the worst game still imo would be LOCO or DWO.

Since I'm from EUROPE and have yet to taste Vindictus I'd have to say the best game I've played of 2010 is probably Cosmic Break. I would also give honourable mentions to Minecraft and Uncharted Waters.
As for flops... Let me leave aside the obvious APB and FFXIV. MicroVolts and Maestia didn't live up to what they could have been. They both had the potential to be great and fell at the most basic of issues. Honourable mention to iRO Ragnarok Renewal for allt he wrong reasons.

Haven't played much.
Flops....well pretty much everything in f2p section. I can hardly name any good one.
Best would be Minecraft and few other games but those are 2009.

Something tells me Cataclysm is going to be at the top of 2010, but if we're talking about brand new games, I'll go with Vindictus. It's not perfect, but it is light years ahead of 99% of F2P releases.
Tough choice for biggest flop between FFXIV and APB, but I'm going to give the medal to APB because I think FFXIV is eventually going to mature into a better game, whereas APB is already in the shitter.

another good ol' excuse, then you see them in wow with alts, you know, because if they used their main characters they will be mocked by everyone around
it's not truly balanced in the PvP aspect, that's true, but, if you are playing WoW for the PvP you are doing it wrong, the same way if you play LOTRO for the PvP you are shooting yourself in the footi'm talking about the other classes.
people who think WoW is balanced are lying to themselves and those around them.
then again at least WoW has more balance in it's pvp than many other mmorpgs out there sans Stuff like Guild Wars where the pvp it's the main focus
