Reputation: 366Well....I got my native accent which won't make any sense to anyone here in the forums but if we are talking about English I was told that I sound more like an American. Don't really know myself.

I grew up in a school system where your grade in English was pretty much determined by how good you were at standarized British accent - until I hit high-school when suddenly the English classes became Americanized - Also have relatives in Texas, so some influence from over there as well.
Since I was 8-14 years old I guess, I did spend most my time conversing in English with a friend of mine, and his family, who were Irish, so appart from the standard British and American accent, have some confidence in my Irish one as well.
My greatest pride though, is my wealth of different Asian-English accents though(****stani, viet, philipino and engrish) due to my entire teens from 15 and upwards was spendt in the company of Asians.
Also have some small confidence in my French and Russian/middle Europe accent, since I did French for 5 years from junior high/high school, and due to influence from the large population of Russian/middle Europe in my area.
I really want to learn Boston accent, and Italian accents, but it's hard to do mainly because there's no-one around here, nor anybody I know abroad, who speaks with those accents. Oh, also want to look into South-African accents.
I mainly stick to a general non-specific American accent, unless I'm joking around, because - as some said - people trying to hard with obivously fake accents sounds like pretentious douchebags.
