    Default Procrastination

I'm sitting in front of a computer with an empty Microsoft PowerPoint presentation and a few untouched tabs on the Camp David Accords, and I can't bring myself to do any work. How do you guys motivate yourselves to get stuff done and not procrastinate? I am so done with pulling all-nighters the day before projects are due.

Alternate topic: Make a powerpoint presentation about the Camp David Accords for me, with sources.

For me, writing out a schedule that breaks it down into smaller chunks and trying to stick to it helps a lot.

For example, rather than trying to get motivated to write a 25 page paper, I'll say like Monday - Finish research, Tuesday - Finish 5 pgs, Wednesday, Finish 10 pgs, etc.

I dig, but it really is stupid to grade on length rather than content and comprehension of the material.

It's graded on all three. Mostly the last two, but the length is a must.

Also in grad school, you have to do actual research, not just write about how things make you feel.

You also forgot to mention the part where you have to do enough reading that your brain may explode.

25 pages isn't that long really. The qualification assignments for taking the exams at university level are usually 8 pages or so. Home exams, 10+(computer written of course).
And this is in useless subjects like social sciences, history, and so forth.

Taking into account how all scholarly articles etc, are 90% reference work, were the goal of the assigment is usually only to account for research and opinions by notable scholars, with minimal amount of personal input, it's even easier if you've done your research properly.

As for procrastination - I'm really not the right person to ask.
In 5 minutes I'm off to university for an exam I started reading for yesterday.
    Wish me luck.

Yup, i find myself spending most of the time finding articles and reading though them. I just look at the time and know how close the date looms and then haul my *** back to the word document.

True, the last paper I wrote was for genetics, and it ended up being 17 pages. However, the references took up a good page and a half, because you were supposed to cite every single thing possible.

In regards to the original subject, I might also add that I wrote half of that paper the day it was due, lolol.

Always deliver on last day lololol.

I just came back from university, and I feel pretty sure I passed the exam. This is pretty gratifying considering I only read for like 4 hours yesterday night, slept for 3 hours, and headed straight to campus without breakfast.

What terrifies me, is that when I recieve the bachelor diploma, I'm actually supposed to know a bunch of stuff, which I don't really know. Then people will hire me thinking I know this shit, and then I'm going to have to develope yet another way of fooling the system and not being cought on my bullshit. I wonder if I'll ever be able to live my life peacefully without having to worry about someone finding out I'm just bullshitting all the time?

Seriously, all the education system ever tought me was how to fool the system, hotwire cars, create unstable chemical reactions, and how to pretend I actually know what I'm talking about regardless of what topic I'm on.
Pretty usefull, but I feel certain that wasn't what the state intended...

I'm painfully aware of how little actual expertise I actually have in any usefull fields, appart from being able to pretend that I have it to the point that people without specialized education can't tell the difference.

I find it quite disturbing really. I mean, I feel certain most serious occupations like hospital work, physicists, engineers and so forth actually know what they studied, and most occupations that don't require a specialized education probably offer some sort of training in any case, as they take in new personnel - However, there is still a bunch of people who never get this, and just keep up the fakery and somehow worm themselves into government posts etc, even though they have no actually skills or knowledge of anything in particular...

I was so much more happy as a kid, when I just thought university graduates and workers all knew what they were doing, and what's best for everyone. Now, I'm too paranoid to even vote, because the voice in my head tells me all the parties are filled with ******ed grad students who think their opinions and biased idologies are more important than facts and scientific studies.
