Devil May Cry 5 - why the hate?

So the new trailer came some time ago and appearantly a lot of people cry like babies because they 'changed their precious Dante'. I watched the trailer and was completely blown away! This new young, punkish Dante is so badass I can't describe how much I love the devs. Devil May Cry + punk/underground culture = awesome.

But I think I understand why some people cry about it. They are afraid that this new approach will ruin the series. I for one don't have such worries and feel the devs made a good choice of refreshing the series. Can't talk about gameplay yet so please keep speculations to yourselves ;p Personally I love this young Dante and the whole punkish atmosphere and eagerly wait for more

Idk. I think it looks great, I think HE looks great. Most are probably not fans of change when the character isn't really broken. I don't mind them switching up who I play as, and I haven't minded since they did it in DMC2. Lucia was pretty fun.

Gonna buy this like I've bought every other one, I'm sure it'll be just as entertaining.

I guess people usually don't mind new characters but when devs change the old ones they 'love so much' all hell breaks loose xD

I think the problem is that this isn't mainstream enough thats why most people hate it. You know the old Dante...white hair, big sword is really mainstream but the DMC 5 doesn't look that appealing to masses of people. He looks more like a bad kid/junkie which I personally love but it's not THAT mainstream.

i think reason people dont like it because it not use the anime style and use western style graphic

What? It's the same style as DMC 4, just a different setting. Besides DMC never was 'anime style'.

then you dont know nothing about art style in games there different art style people can judge a game. DMC5 use western style it way different dmc4
