Devil May Cry 5 - why the hate?

So the new trailer came some time ago and appearantly a lot of people cry like babies because they 'changed their precious Dante'. I watched the trailer and was completely blown away! This new young, punkish Dante is so badass I can't describe how much I love the devs. Devil May Cry + punk/underground culture = awesome.

But I think I understand why some people cry about it. They are afraid that this new approach will ruin the series. I for one don't have such worries and feel the devs made a good choice of refreshing the series. Can't talk about gameplay yet so please keep speculations to yourselves ;p Personally I love this young Dante and the whole punkish atmosphere and eagerly wait for more

Idk. I think it looks great, I think HE looks great. Most are probably not fans of change when the character isn't really broken. I don't mind them switching up who I play as, and I haven't minded since they did it in DMC2. Lucia was pretty fun.

Gonna buy this like I've bought every other one, I'm sure it'll be just as entertaining.

I think the problem is that this isn't mainstream enough thats why most people hate it. You know the old Dante...white hair, big sword is really mainstream but the DMC 5 doesn't look that appealing to masses of people. He looks more like a bad kid/junkie which I personally love but it's not THAT mainstream.

Hahahahahah. Firstly, anime and manga was based off the GAME not the other way. Secondly, even if it was based on anime/manga that doesn't make the game 'anime style'. DMC always had western looking characters, architecture and atmosphere. You know completely nothing about this game more less about your 'anime style'.

I've always hated characters with unnatural white hair. But it looks to me like DMC is a prequel further back than 3. Like when he first got his demon powers.
