DC Universe is too hack and slash to be entertaining IMO.

The most entertaining game I been playing for the last two days is Lord Of The Rings Online.

Really really entertaining. So much to do that it will probably satiate you at a minimum a month.

Best Free MMORPG out there today in my opinion.

You complain about all these generic standart games + you play RoM?
lolz ^^ Ah and Lord of the Rings has nice pve but its still a standart mmorpg. Quest there, kill here, news quest - boss run and so on

your best choice would be mabinogi or vindictus (mabi heroes)
    or Runescape

I find it fun because it has a large community, unique classes, good lore and nice graphics. (Yes I hate Anime graphic games.)

The end game content isn't all that bad.

Well switch to Artemis(main PVE server) if you want a populated server, I know the pvp ones are more so-so.(plus a less friendly economy)

even if you dont like anime games..mabi is a great game thats for sure.
It has more to offer than LotR ^^ Vindictus for example is mabinogi zero
because the story is set befor the mabi story and this one hasnt anime
graphic style. Mabi 2 will be different too but in the end..you should play
good games and if the game has a different art style that you dont like..
i would play too ^^ The game has nothing to do with an anime..its just
    the graphic.

    gameplay > graphic

I was playing LotR in the pre f2p beta but if you had played
WoW or other games like this one..it gets boring rlly fast.

Classes arent unique..they just have new names thats all..
i loved the PvP fights where the player can contrll mobs

Yeah i know it is kinda hypocritical. But i mean, if i have to kill xx and go xx then i might as well do it with good graphics, good and well-polished gameplay and with a lot of gifts which RoM has.

As for Vindictus, i live in Europe

Well no shi* Sherlock! Of course it bores after a while. But as i have heard, Vindictus and also DDO and various other games have a different quest system.

RoM gets purely pay2win at some point and if you wanna go into ANY higher lvl instances you must have Cash Shop. It's a nice game but sadly the greedy devs ruin the fun.

Don't know how Allods is compared to this but in RoM all the good stuff from instaces as you probably already noticed is Bound to character and the EQ that is bound on pick up can only be unbound with a special cash shop item that costs 100 freaking diamonds and is only avaible for sale like once every 2 weeks so even if you manage to get into high lvl instances you won't make any cash out of your loot because every godamn item worth selling in this game is Bound so you can only make Mana Stones out of it.

BUT to make Mana Stones worth selling (pure) you need another cash shop item called Purified Fusion Stone which costs 39 Diamonds normally but sometimes it's in promotion in packages and such so its much cheaper but still, youneed to buy Cash Shop to make use of your loot.

And You'll need fully upgraded/stated equip if you wanna go into high end instances. ~14 pieces of equipment x 6 Mana Stones in each (thats max you can add) = ~84 Purified Fusion Stones AT LEAST. Course you'll use more because of changing EQ.

Then you have +ing stones which any high end player can't do without. Plusing items gives awesome bonuses (especially jewelry) so you'll want to get everything to +12. With non Cash Shop stones you probably won't even get past +3 because the rates are impossible and the Cash Shop sells stones which can easily get you to +6 and no far. Once in a while they sell +12 stones which as you can guess cost a shitload of money, much more expensive than Advanced Unbindings. Moreover you'll need to get most of your EQ to +12 to go into high end instances.

Then you have Runes...you get the picture. This game is pure Cash Shop at high/end game.

But the worst thing in RoM is the Bound EQ I mentioned, because of that the only way to make good cash is to sell Diamonds to other people OR grind (and I mean a lot of grind here) Daily Quest Items/Resources and sell them to other players...Or grind instances and sell crap loot in thousands to NPC.

Don't reccommend RoM unless you can invest some cash in it. Otherwise at end game you'll just cry tears of blood and frustration.

if you are talking cash, then no you dont need to use cash to get other things.

My brother plays and he is a F2P member. He has unlocked 4 adventure packs and few other things without spending any real cash. He has a lvl 53 character and in Moria leveling.

If its a limited trial then it's limited trial till you max out a character level.

Yeah, I gotta go with Cyber. While it's CS isn't that overpriced overtime, Turbine has the best F2P system with it's TP sytem. Plus it's not just boring to earn the TPs, it's actually fun and exciting to earn them. Hell, one of the early quests actually gives you free TP and shows you how to use the CS.

With unlocking a new adventure packs, you unlock the ability to accomplish new deeds that gain you TP. The good thing about adventure packs is it is for the whole account. So you dont need purchase them with every character/server.

There are things that are purchased that will be for that specific character you are playing. But the main things are account wide unlocks.

Overall, Turbine has created the BEST F2P system you can find.
Ah. Thanks for clearing that. If that's the case then I'm downloading it last time I tried it before it went F2P but couldn't play as Runekeeper, I guess I still need to unlock him right.

I did tell you, but with TP, not real cash.

The only things I suggest using real cash for is buying Mines of Moria, and Siege of Mirkwood. If you find the right place online, you can get these two expansions for about $20 or less. In Doing so, you can get one month free and it makes you a premium member after the month is over... which being a premium member grants yo better privliges than a F2P member.

Also, any characters that are used and made during that paid month will not have a gold cap and will have all inventory bags. So during that month, just make a few characters.

    Correct

TIP: When dealing with the Turbine Store, wait till the thing you want is one sale. Sometimes you get the item you want at 80% off its normal rate.

TIP: The lottery is back!!!! Which means a chance to get free stuff. You just need to qualify for the lottery.

I dont know what servers are good on the Eu client, but you can still play on the US client and not receive any lag.

    I play on Silverlode.

There are others on Arkenstone and Brandywine. Brandywine is the most populated server, but the rest is quite active and populated any time of the day.

That can only be done one time per server. But with all the servers you have, thats still a lot of TP for doing nothing. Just dont use that TP to purchase the quest item they ask you to get.

    1) So you can actually earn the currency used in the cash shop In game?

    2) Are the EU and US same servers? Can I play on the same servers as US guys while living in EU?

    3) How is the leveling and is there are career in the non-combat activites like crafting and fishing?
    1. Yep they call em Turbine Points or TP for short. A few can be earned through questing while others require epic deeds or whatever which involve killing mobs or getting to a certain point.

    2. I think you can mix and match not really all that sure though.

    3. Leveling isn't bad when you party up, solo wise it's kinda dull. Dunno much about non-combat stuff there might be but all I ever did was level when I used to play.

Crafting is also very nice in LOTRO, especially the f2p transition.
There's also fishing too. And playing instruments as well.
