On the weekend you would be able to do raids and what not. 3 hours a day is plenty to make progress.

Eh, Back in my old guild, we were casual during weekdays and hardcore during weekends, but yeah most of the time a raid should be around 3-5 hours depending on who you go with.

The only time that WoW was really time intensive was when it was first released and a little bit of the first expansion. More than anything, when it comes to PvE skill matters more than anything.

I used to raid as part of a top end Guild in WotLK and as people get used to a new raid instance we could clear just about everything (except the obligatory last or gimmick encounter) in a couple hours. At the same time however, other Guilds might spend four times as much. I guess the best way to make the most of your time is to play your class well and make sure you're playing with other good people.

As far as PvP goes, they changed the system a lot with Cataclysm so I can't comment on the grinding.

That's plenty of time to get to endgame content.

You'll be fine. Also, the new instances/heroics are very fun and quite hard to be honest.

The new guild features/rewards do require quite alot of time to unlock, smaller guilds are obviously going to require quite active members to achieve them, where as if you join a bigger guild you can be more casual and feel your doing your bit. I can see more bigger guilds forming & less smaller guilds existing.. suppose they have done this to encourage raiding.

There still will be alotta casual guilds that raid, imo maybe less that wotlk as alot of the bigger guilds are merging to try unlock the guild rewards, them guilds will be picky.

Most fun guilds are those that are large in numbers but casual & not really fussed about the guild rewards.. guilds that will get to endgame content but not as speedy as hard-corers, most servers have these types of guilds.. just gotta look at the realm forums & find the best one for you.

inb4 you played when there were guides for every encounter la la la.

I still remember when my first guild fought Rag back in Vanilla, man we got demolished in seconds, that shit was intense.
