so i had the problem where it was stuck at the hp invent screen and it was frozen there meaning no bios, no setup, nothing.... well now it doesn't enter windows
-----------------------------------
okay so it's not stuck at the hp invent screen anymore because i bought a new mother board:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-665-_-Product
and it boots up no freezing nothing and i can get into bios and setup and boot menu
what i have installed:
2 hard drives:
750 gb- my old hp computer http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148445&cm_re=seagate_ba rracuda22-148-445
Product
500gb- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...612-_-Product- this model but not re-certified and bought separately
3x 2gb of ram- 1066 mhz- hp computer
ATI Radeon 4650 HD- hp computer
2x dvd drives- one's from the hp computer one i bought myself
i7-920 2.66 ghz- also from the hp computer
420watt power- hp computer
windows 7 ultimate x64
--------------------------------------------
problem:
1. Won't recognize the 500 gb hard drive and won't recognize one of the dvd drives (i believe it's the hp one but i need to double check)
2. When it boots into the hp hard drive (750gb) it gives me two options- repair windows or run it manually. If i run it manually it just reboots me, if i try to repair, it goes until it says unable to repair (i don't have internet maybe that's the problem)
-----------------------------------------------
what i have done:
i've scanned the 750gb hard drive and got nothing on it
i've ran it with only the 500 gb hard drive and still it doesn't recognize it
i've tried to boot the 750 gb hard drive on another computer .... but it was x32 so it errored rofl (didn't realize it sorry)
the 750gb does get recognized though
------------------------------------------------
what i haven't done:
i haven't reinstalled a fresh copy of windows 7
i haven't ran the 750gb drive by itself (on the new motherboard i have tried on the old one)
i haven't scanned the 500 gb drive
-------------------------------------------------
Memory does get recognized
-------------------------------------------------
Other Thoughts:
when the computer broke down i just switched from avg to microsoft security essentials
it was booting fine one day and the next day just wouldn't get past the hp invent screen so i went and bought a new mobo.... (i checked the other things)
Is it just because the hard drive isn't use to the new mobo and i have to rewrite it or wipe it and do a clean reinstall?
