    I don't get your point.

People waste money because it's their nature, if you don't spend it here you spend it somewhere else, drinks, smokes, drugs, food...etc. That doesn't mean people that don't follow their route can't say what they think. It's like saying that if i don't take drugs i don't have the rights to complain about them being sold...it makes no sense to me

I must say i was addicted to a lot of F2P games..
as soon you start playing P2P games you start seeing the bad sides of F2P..
But there are still a lot of awsome games out there.
Had a lot of fun in RYL.. not rlly the best graphic game..
Huge grind fest.. but still i liked it.
Its about who you play with and what you do.
If you play games solo its always less fun and you get bored pretty fast.

but it's true, when i was a kid, i was stuck with f2p, now i can afford p2p, way better mmorpg experience. (WoW *muacks*)
its not true..perhaps some kids dont have enough money because they are lazy and dont work for their money (+ their pocket money)...when i was a kid i had small jobs like delivering newspapers or smth like that so + my
pocket money i had enough for 1 p2p and that was DAoC loong time ago..

there is a reason why i am so pissed of about his comments...he always bashing f2p games. Even when the f2p game is rlly good and we said that allready more than one time..there ARE good f2p games out there and i
will still play good f2p games even when i have 1 p2p game on my side.

Having 1 semi-decent mmorpg doesn't make the whole F2P look any better.
Considering there are hundreds of F2P's you can prolly count the decent ones with just the fingers in one hand, which doesn't make the whole F2P industry good at all.

Btw, mabinogi is not the average mmorpg...you really have to enjoy that kind of games in order to play it...which we could say is not the case, it's not a very populated mmorpg.

On the other hand, when i refer to F2P's i usually referto the ones with big companies behind of them, i love indie projects or games made with low budget...it's not easy to make a mmorpg and yet these small projects put a million times more effort to make a game than all big companies together. Look at PWE for example...they make a few tweaks and release again the same mmorpg...it's really dull...Jade Dynasty, Ether Saga, LOMA...completely ridiculous, and yet they are one of the most rich companies.
i aggree with you that you can count the good f2p on 1 or 2 hands

BUT "which we could say is not the case, it's not a very populated mmorpg."
are you serious? even when i am a fan of mabi i know that you are
totaly wrong. Not populated? i laughed hard. You are new to the
mmorpg world are you? Mabi was out when i was 13-14 and since
this time its very VERY populated on the world. Many people
played this on Kr or TW server just to play this game (even when they
dont understand the language) and just look at the NA server..
since the english version is out..there was no change. The game
is still populated because it IS a very good unique mmorpg (not important
if f2p or p2p). Sure you need to learn the game to get into it but in that
case its smiliar to runescape (that is populated too)

first get some infos about the game befor you post smth that is definitley wrong

I'm not wrong at all, just a different point of view, NA version is not international...i can't play it anyway, feel free to check out the EU version by yourself

And it's not that you gotta learn the game, it's completely different gameplay...one of those games that either you like or you hate.

Just because a place is smaller doesn't mean it has less people...look at China for example.

Europe less knowledge about mmorpgs? Like if NA got any game more that EU doesn't have, some were released in NA only and some in EU only, just because NA is "closer" to Asia doesn't mean they got more knowledge about mmorpgs...so if i live with someone that has 140 IQ i'll have 140 IQ? right...
Germans being new at mmorpg scene? Where do you live...in a cave? Germany has really high mmorpg population since ever...i don't know where you find that info to say such funny things.

In fact, the place that wins both NA and EU mmorpgs wise is Russia which is Eurasian, neither european or asian, as they have access to everything else but they also develop and release other games that you'll ever see. They even have Lineage 2 as F2P

Anything else? ----> Wikipedia is that way :P

Are you serious that you are in a internet forum discussing with nails and teeth about wich country has the biggest MMORPG population?

Wasn't there a reasoning on - If you talk to dumb people, you become dumber. If you interact with ******s, you degrade into a ****** sometime .

Oh and, China IS NOT small.

Again, read the previous posts and not the final answer, it's not me who said Europe "is small compared to the rest" and is "new" at mmorpgs, if you are really just reading the last post of a thread...there is no point to post either.

True, i guess i should stop replying to these "dumb answers"

I know China is not small, but compared to the size of the country...they are a really overpopulated, that was my example.

The population of a country doesn't mean nothing about how many people in it play MMORPGS.

São Paulo(Brazilian Province) is bigger than Portugal and other European countries, and is almost as big as Canada, with almost the same population as an European country, and still, have few players.

The gaming leaders are Asia and USA, theres no discussion on that

I wasn't making fun of him, infact up until you came and decided to ruin a perfectly good thread by calling it stupid(which it isn't btw) the conversation itself was very civil, if anyone should be made fun of for being a ****, it is you, I also suggest you either contribute something or accept the fact that you will get an infraction if you continue, the same goes for anyone else who feels the need to be an *** just for the sake of it.

"Free" to play is a false advertising or a scam. The only correct names for these games are "Cash Shop" or "Micropayments" but certainly not "free" to play.
It's fine to have cash shop, it's totally understandable, but if you want players to spend some muney on cash shop, at least make the game a bit decent.

The one thing that always irked me about most F2P mmo's is the lack of cloth animation. Is it that much to ask for something that games had around 10 years ago!

Edit: For stupid people this means flowing cloaks or robes that don't move like a giant bell.

Oh c'mon, no ones mention Maplestory as a fabulous F2P game that isn't like most other f2p crap? Tsk tsk.

This isn't really related but - It takes 2 hands to clap. If one side had ignored the other, the other would MOST likely to drop it since continuing on would bring hate from the .. audience. Thus, if one side was tempbanned or warned, so should the other. Given valid reason like a sincere apology(no, not just to the 'authority'), maybe it should be let off or dropped huh.

Also; I noticed an increasing trend of offering cash shop items as prizes for many events in certain f2p games now ;o The leveling curve in most games have been tuned down too, 'cept for certain where the level cap is pretty 'low' and thus later levels became a grind, which is arguable as a good or bad thing.

The reason why I didnt mention Maple is because I dont like how the whole game is centered around grinding ;P

Thats not to say it isnt a good game, because it is and was/is very unique for its time.

More mmos need interactive quests where they're instanced based, my favorite example would be Age of Conan, they ad those daily quests where you grouped up with people and fought in epic battles. Shit like that is what more mmos need. :P

The problem is...that mmorpgs (games in general) don't really use to focus on those "experienced gamers", they instead focus on the new generations...and they obviously will like that kind of games because it's new for them, at least that's how i see it.

But anyway, as long as it gives them profit it'll be hard to see things change, at least in the near future.

The leveling system is rather pointless...yes, specially when you need to go through all the boring and time waster part to start enjoying it, a big percent of the people quits playing during that boring part which is pretty normal. As casual player it takes you at least 2-4 months to reach the good part of a mmorpg.
