The show is great, hey every single "nobody" on that show makes more money than the nobody's on here.

I think the reason I find Jersey Shore more enjoyable than other trashy faux-reality TV shows is because I feel like the people on Jersey Shore are really acting the way they normally act. Compared to The Real World or Laguna Beach or other really contrived TV shows I get the distinct impression that people truly are living out their lives on TV the way they normally would. And since the way they act is so hilarious, it makes the show entertaining. The whole thing reminds me of the "Mad Real World" sketch on the Chappelle.

Reality TV is a security camera. Nobody acts 100% honest on these shows, with millions watching. Anyone believing this is real is naive beyond words. Simple logic. They act in ways that will be marketable and you fall for it.

Also, so what if it WAS real? Why waste irretrievable time watching these scummy douchebags because, oh, it's the way they REALLY act? Why would it be better if they acted this way for real? They're assholes, by your own admission.

The fact that it passes for entertainment is a disgrace, but at least understand how fake it is.

I spent a large portion of my early teens in the company of complete douchebags(and they were not on reality TV), and I must admit I still found them more entertaining in general, than most of your average joes.

Agree opinionwise one the observation that people generally lose all ability to act natural when they know they're on camera. A certain amount of affected behavior is to be expected.

EDIT: Also worth noting, that nobody acts a 100% honest regardless of situation. I might be cynical, but I don't believe in 100% unaffected behavior. Everybody tunes their behavior to circumstances. To believe otherwise, is to be naive to the nature of human psyche.
