    Default Overheating issues.

    Hey guys, I've come seeking help.

    So i've had my computer(gateway: LX6810-10) For probably a year now, when i bought it it was fairly new and had no reviews and by looking at the specs i thought it was fairly nice for its price.

    However now if you read any review of it you'll see mostly over heating issues some say video card, some say processor etc.

    having my fair share of geeksquad, and breaking my warranty(opening it to clean and what not) i cant take it to them and wouldn't anyways.

    I've made it this far with this computer by putting a gigantic wall fan on the open side of it which seems to prevent it from overheating(and the motherboard shutting it down to prevent damage). But its pretty loud and am seeking a more uh, logical, and quieter solution.

    Heres a pic of some temps

    So as you can see, clearly indicated by these monitors my gpu is obviously way hotter than it should be, thus im thinking about just upgrading my nvidia geforce gt 120, and buying some case fans.

    As for cards i have nvidia chipsets so its recommending i get nvidia cards, but says also works just as well with ati.

    my first choice being the whole nvidia case would be;

    Versus;

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B0047ZH7FU

    However i have no idea if either of these and some fans will resolve my issues which is why im here. so any tips and opinions are greatly appreciated if you have any questions i can try and answer them to help aid you in answering me.

    Thanks in advance.

    It's a bit hard to tell just by looking at those numbers. If those are simply idle temperatures then I would say that your GPU is indeed overheating. It could be due to several reasons:
    1. Dirty Case
    2. Malfunctioning GPU
    3. Poor Case Design (airflow)
    4. Bad heatsink contacts on your GPU

    I'm guessing that a newer graphics card may help a bit if your problem is 2 or 4. I would say go ahead and try to put in a new card (make sure your PSU can handle it).

    Those are idle numbers yeah. i Recently cleaned out my whole system taking it apart to ensure i got all the dust and whatnot. The fan on the graphics card is spinning and everything looks to be functioning as planned.

    I am pretty sure the airflow on my case is pretty bad being as the computer itself doesn't have any actual exterior fans, only ones are the processor cooler and the psu fan, which is why im going to pick up a couple case fans as well as a new card.

    any chance of a program that can tell me all my wattage being used?
