Im thinking about getting my drivers license. Im 20 years old so what im wondering what test will i have to take. Ive never driven a car before. But my granma eyes are bad. So she needs help getting around sometimes, Any ways i live in N.C so do i just go to dmv and take a test are what? thank you.

Don't you need to take drivers education and have a learners for at least a year before you can get your license? You need to spend x amount of hours in a car with an instucter to pass drivers ed.

in most states/country's if you are or above legal age you just have to take the tests. permits are for those under 18 or what ever your state/country's legal age is. that of course varies depending on where you live.

You have to get your learners permit first, then drive 20 hours, then go take your road test. In my state anyway.

But, at your age, they might just waive the 20 hour thing. Not sure. If you have to drive 20 hours, just get it and practice until you're comfortable, then go take it. If they say "theres no way you've driven for 20 hours" just tell them you took a big road trip.
