Anime with an average person?

I'm just looking for an anime that has a guy/girl that just goes through his/her life, nothing special, no fantasy, like a student or something, think of Death Note without the Death Note and just Light going to school, and such...

Clannad or Nodame Cantabile is really good so that should be #1 :P
Minami-ke, Honey and Clover #2
Aishiteruze baby the anime imo wasn't good, it didn't do the manga justice. I say just read the manga before watching the anime just cause the manga is 100x better and the anime is kind of a treat for seeing parts of it animated.

Can't say for the rest since I haven't watched them

Doujin Work is pretty good too imo. Not really fantasy... but more like a.. hmm.

You need to be more picky then.

Although a lot of the anime you like I like too.

Except I don't like K-On.

I like more of the intellectually mature and thought provoking mystery thriller types when it comes to anime so I don't think I can be of much help with his question.
But I like to mix things up every now and then.

It is nigh impossible to find yourself a slice of life anime without running into the "KYAAAAA KAWAIIIIIIII" crowd. Long story short, unless you're willing to deal with every single, and i mean without fail, plotline dealing with the aspects about the relationship between a guy and a girl, and almost focusing exclusively about that except in different settings, you might as well just walk away from the genre entirely.

minami-ke , honey and clover , Natsume Yuujinchou ... i don't see much of kawaii in those ofc minami-ke characters are cute because that is a story of 3 sisters ^^
