Rift is closing to 1 million players as we speak.
However the real numbers will be seen in a month when you actually have to start paying monthly for the game.

Golden I know you love Rift and all but COME ON lol.... the reason the "raids" and world have so many players is due to the game being new so everyone has to level and whatnot. Give it a bit and when people hit max level they wont give two shits about going back to low level areas (unless rifts give level appropiate gear etc regardless of area? ) and the world will become just as empty as WoW.

Yeah after the starting areas "quiet down" people will still roam Rifts in the high-end areas as there are "Rift-only" rewards in the game and the endgame gear is mostly from expert/raid rifts and expert dungeons. Not to mention on PvP servers there will be massive fights around the high level areas between players trying to do Rifts and people trying to get favor/prestige from other players. And tbh it only takes 10-15 people to complete invasion in the starting areas, not considering you might get few lv50's to help out if they are as you said "bored".
Rift will have much more "alive" world and there's an actual point to leave the main hubs, unlike in WoW.
Huge part in this is that Telara in it's current state is rather small compared to the world in WoW. Which actually isn't a bad thing as it packs people together :J
However if they **** up the LFD system it might end up just like WoW. Hopefully they don't.

I played WoW for several years now.. I think from before Burning Crusade even. And comparing a game that has been out for so many years and gained on Content, improvements and all of that with a game that is not even fully released yet.
Is like comparing fire and water.. It cannot be done really. All points people state are mainly /un-grounded/ 'WoW has more to do!!!!!' --> Ofcourse it does, the game has been out for so many years!!!.

That is one of my main gripes with WoW nowadays is the LFD system, ruined finding good players on your realm outside of your guild and hurt alot of the social aspect.

If they really add something like that to Rift and it sucks, the game can burn in hell and I'll go back to WoW ;J

What they said is that they will add LFG system(that automatically makes the group for you) and there's a possibility it's cross-server, however they said it won't suck.
You can't outwit a fanboy who has listened/watched/read everything the devs have said about the game for past 6 months ;P

You can't believe everything they tell you. You're just in denial right now since you're apart of the Rift craze. Once things die down (if the game last that long), you'll start seeing broken promises.
It's bound to happen. Continue to deny it, it'll just make the inevitable much harder on you once you realize it.
