Default List of all *active* P2P MMOs

    Hey guys,

I have a couple bucks, and I wanted to subscribe to another MMO besides WoW at the moment, since I deff, done alot in that game. I still have some thing I wanna do but I was thinking about resubbing to Aion but before I do, I wanted to know if you guys could list some active p2p mmos at the moment. Im actually having a hard time doing so since I know the list is prolly small. Id add some then you guys can add on if you want.

    Everquest 1&2
    Aion
    Lineage 1&2
World of Warcraft(And dont get me wrong, I love this game, but I also like playing several games also, Im deff not bored of WoW I truely do love it and play it all the time as you can see on my xfire profile.)
DC Universe(i was deff thinking about buying this game, played a little in beta, it wasnt bad, i liked the PvP system they had going on. If I didnt have to buy the game too I would have subscribe to it already, but before I buy any games I just wanted to go here first since I can hold off on buying another game since I like playing WoW alot.)
Warhammer Online (I was thinking to try this game out, since you dont have to buy the game, and personally i think thats how all MMOs should be like, but I really would be trying to hard to like this game since its just to god damn bad.)

How so for Aion? I have looked at the forums and it seems like the population is dieng because on going war on "Rifts" in the game and how the dev is changing them, and bascially the live servers keeps ending up to be a test relm.

I totally forgot about AoC. I would like to try that. Do I have to buy the game too so I can play? I totally forgot about that game! See!! It was worth making a thread now! Is the population low though?

I used to be a VERY hardcore SWG player, but Sony ****ING CANT MAKE NON COMBAT UPGRADE SERVERS. They ****ed themselfs on that game.

    STO?
Rift, yeah... Id wait and see how that turns out, but that game is deff on my list doesnt seem to bad, but Ima wait the month to see where it ends up. I think with MMO games, you gotta do that.

City of Heroes is deff a game I would consider, any idea how its going? the community status? (is it low or high?)

And Vanguard I know that game is just dead, I dunno why, because I like how that game is very "PRO" community, great crafting features and what not. Do you know why no one plays it at all? You can make boats and everything, player housing, these features are just things i wish blizzard could add to WoW and I would love it 10x better! (more indeph crafting I mean, like how it was in SWG).

Aion is f'd up badly right now. FFXI has even more people playing it than Aion. xD

edit: On that note... I'd like to make a few comments on the good list you gave.

AoC- Population has boomed quite a bit, especially with the unlimited free trial. On top of this they have fixed a lot of the bugs, and brought a lot more content to the table.

STO- Believe it or not, STO is making a huge comeback from when they started. In fact if you log on Saturday you will find awful lag because of the massive amounts of players hopping on to play the ongoing series they have going that plays out like an actual episode on the TV. They plan to revamp ground combat to make is suck less, and it has great ship combat that is fun to play in the mean time. Customization is great, and you can have a unique character of your own.

Rift- Is setting the bar for the 2011 mmos. It has released highly polished, better than virtually all the games that have come out before it. The population is doing great, and seems to be growing each passing day. The skill system and graphics are quite nice to boot.

SWG- This game is dead, don't bother with it.

CoH- Has lost a lot of members, but is still a great game. Plenty of things to do, good customization, polished, and has some okay PvP. It can be too slow paced for some people though.

ehh Ima stay away from it, ive seen gameplay and it seems like a bunch of menus i dunno, i would wanna play with someone in that game.

Edit: City of Heroes is downloading at 500kb/s...JEEZE /facepalm. It always downloads sooo slow. I remember awhile back it was only going that fast too.

Edit: Hell I wouldnt even mind trying out "Lineage 1" since ****ing diablo 3 will NEVER be out. Dungeon Siege 3 is taking forever, **** I just want a clicky dungeon game. That people KEEP playing online. I wish sarced 2 didnt die out, pretty sure there online servers are closed.

Don't say a game is dead or lively based on your own feeling like its some hard fact. The truth is most of these games are sustainable and have people actively playing, that's why they're still in business.

Anyway check out mmorpg.com for a pretty good list of what you're looking for.

as for STO, its actually doing a lot better then most people think, sure its not the most popular p2p mmorpg but its definitely got a good sized community behind it.
I might try vanguard one of theses days. I wont right now cause I was actually trying to download STO but its like maxed out at 500kb/s, and for a game that is a couple gigs that takes a bit. Well at least for me it downloads only the fast. At the moment Im gunna download AoC cause that game just seems and sounds amazing and fun. Plus with the endless trial I can just take my time and go over things slowly to see if I really do enjoy it. From what I read and watched I cant believe this game doesnt have a huge community as it is. But Im guessing the old bugs are what killed this game. I mean prolly everyone heard about the bug where people could kill people without wearing armor at all.

Ummm EQ and EQ2 went F2P if i recall right...Vanguard is a great game, tho it released in a very bad state. Plus the company allowed you to play all their P2P games with only 1 subscription, which was pretty cool. EQ1, EQ2, Vanguard, Matrix online back when it was up.

You cant really call EQ2x free. A huge portion of the levels, gear, mastery rank, etc needs to be payed for. Not to mention bag extensions, gold cap, etc.

May I recommend Final Fantasy 11? The game is a subscription-based game and comes with 30 day Free Trial. It is an outdated game but the game is being consistently updated. You can purchase and Direct-Download the game from Steam. If you want to see how the game is like, go to Final Fantasy 11 Official Website and take a look at the Vana'diel Live Video. Make sure to go on the Asura server as many players are playing on there.
