Cthulhu is an entity of pure evil developed by H.P. Lovecraft in a short story called "The Call of Cthulhu" .
Basically he's Davy Jones from pirates of the Caribbean except several stories tall and can level planets, and hey he's even has his own cult.
His recent role as in internet meme spawned from the South Park episode that aired earlier this year, when he was Cartman's pet.
