I got it on PC and find it alright. *edit* I should note it was a lot better than I'd expected after playing the demo, with the addition of high resolution textures and overall better performance in retail.
I prefer Origins even though I think that game had it's fair share of issues but honestly this game is taking way too much gripe, sure they streamlined and simplified it so it plays more like a console game it's still a lot of fun to play.
Similar to what they did with ME2 and in the end even people who hated ME2 at first started to like it after playing it for awhile so I'm sure all the haters will fade.
I think you'll have the benefit of judging the game fairly having not played Origins which is good. It's taking some getting used too for me especially after finishing Neverwinter Nights 2 I'm still used to having that tactical view also having much more freedom over my character and companions to customize. But at the same time it's nice to not really have to worry about builds and screwing up your characters or not having good enough gears, in DA2 they've pretty much force you along the best path.
My final verdict if I were to score the game out of ten it would 8/10.
I like it, the dialogue wheel, the combat, the story. The only gripe I have is that they keep reusing dugeons, every single dungeon is the same or have 1 or 2 rooms that are the same. At least with DA Origins every place feels unique but DA2 turns them generic and less appealing.
I also liked the DA Origins characters better (Morrigan ), the only ones in DA2 I like is varric cause of his voice and humor and a bit of Aveline the rest imo are annoying or lack something that make me want to choose them as my companion.
I really like it so far, I hate how they took out Arcane Warrior for mages, they were OP but needed for insane mode.
Dunno about the other versions but the 360 version has such crappy text sizes, UGH!
So far I'm 2 hours in as a Rogue, I'm liking it so far definitely seeing Varric as my favorite companion.
