problem with wifi on mobile phone (HTC)

First of all, i know almost nothing about wifi or wireless routers.

That said, i cannot get my wifi to work on my HTC touch HD.

When i first got the HTC touch HD i could connect to the wifi just fine, but I changed some settings (because it was automatically connecting to the vodafone server which costs alot of money) and now I can't get it to work anymore.

The wifi network is a wireless network at my home, which was just installed about a week ago. It is password protected.

When i look in the wifi settings of my mobile i can sellect connect to work or connect to internet. I can also say if it's a hidden network or not.

after that I have to select autentication, i can choose between wpa2-psk, wpa2, wpa-psk, wpa, shared, open.

Depending on the authentication I also have to give the data encryption.

After that I have to give the network key.

But no matter what combination of those i try I can not get it to work, does anyone have any idea to get this to work? I would be very very grateful.

Ye i did that, my phone also automatically detects it, but when I enter the password it doesn't work
