already had the game but glad to share with you all apparently the creators of Fate (also creators of diablo, Mythos and Torchlight) had a facebook event where if they reached a certain ammount of 'likes' they would be giving a unlock code that gives u the game for free!

btw this is not a mmorpg but a singleplayer hack and slash rpg like torchlight.

Step 1: Visit http://www.wildtangent.com/Games/fatethetraitorsoul. Click the TRY FREE button in the top right corner. This will launch the WildTangent Games App.

Step 2: Once the game has finished downloading, click PLAY in the top right corner.

Step 3: A small screen will appear with options to play with or without ads. On the left side of that small screen you will see the options to use an unlock code or buy the game. Click [ use unlock code ].

Step 4: Enter the unlock code D9CF-HHLL-LLXE into the blank box and click UNLOCK.

Step 5: Play and have fun!!

i wouldnt really say its better :P just different graphic style and weapons/armors/skills. they are both fun games to play.

for some reason i played fate for a longer ammount of time then torchlight though, i like the music more too btw even though torchlight had matt uelman i didnt really find the music fit to that game.. matt uelman works better with gory games like diablo :P

Game has changed a lot since I had last played it, hell it never even had a real story when I played it, no races, 2 pets only etc.

Torchlight was to short, and the endgame they tacked on was pointless, for example:

"Go down to dungeon x and kill x boss to get me item x and I'll give you an item"

At least with FATE they had expansions come out for the game.

And thats why they are releasing Torchlight 2 in June . More areas , more monsters , more weapons , more features , 4 player coop Online and LAN .
They saw the reactions and disappointments of the players and they worked hard for this sequel . Not to mention the feedback they will get from Torchlight 2 will go into the mmo version .

Oh, and I saw a weapon named "Morning Star", man that reminded me on Diablo(that 1h mace). ^^

there are some interesting ones between them like showing Blood instead of stars :P
just try not to go overboard with the spawn item name and magic anvil cheat cause its a bit like crack lol, before u know it your busy spawning anvils all day xD (i kinda ruined my last character doing this)

should work till monday, if u have already activated the code before try using a different .exe in the fate folder, i think theres fate.exe and fate-wt.exe
