500w is plenty they use that as a minimum but really it's quite enough unless you are packing 12 fans.

Also having higher wattage doesn't mean the PSU is better quality.
I could purchase a 500w PSU that is much better than an 800W one.

And the CPU you purchased is not worth it if you only use it for regular tasks and games.

You don't really get much performance gain compared to the 4 core Phenom II CPUs.

It would have been better for you to buy a similar priced i5 2500k which will perform better in games and have great overclocking potential.

8 gigs of RAM is overkill.
    No game needs it.
by the time a game needs 8 gigs the RAM you purchased will be obsolete by years.

It would have been better to purchase 3 sticks of 2gig ddr3 RAM and set them up in triple channel using the i5 2500k.

Also I would purchase two separate hard drives and put them in RAID 0 configuration.

This would have been my advice.
I am not ignorant when it comes to this so don't pass it off like that.

    I don't have 12 fans, but I do have 2 extra ones.

It might be minimum performance gain between the cpu's you stated, but regardless its performance gain. And I do more than just gaming on my computer.

I don't like intel cpu's heh. And my motherboard isn't intel compatible so.

Damnit irony , the ram was good and it had a great deal going!! couldn't of said no hahaa

Well I am just giving advice.

You won't really see any fps gain from the 6 core compared to the 4 core Phenom II.

But with the i5 2500k you would smoke those AMD cpus and the price is about the same.

AMD is really bottom barrel CPUs until they come out with something else.
They aren't bad CPUs but for the amount you spent on the 6 core cpu you could of gotten something much better.

And whether you got a good deal on 8 gigs of RAM you probably will never use that more than 5 gigs with that set up.

The triple channel set up would have been better and cheaper.

And like I mentioned running 2 hard drives in RAID 0 would be best.

It's better to build a PC that has parts which compliment each other for the best bang of the buck and performance.

I went with the i5, best price, 4 cores, and really awesome performance.

At the time, a bunch of benchmarks put Intel in head of AMDs processors, i dunno if things have changed as of late.

8 gigs of ram is really over doing it, remember, even though you can afford it, you should take things into consideration.

Im sitting on 4 gigs of DDR3/2000 and I Rarely max that out in any game i play, will i really need 8 gigs?

The only things that should be gone all out for in PCS is the PSU, Case, and Mobo in my opinion Because these choices effect your future proofing.

    OVerall, good PC.
