It might be minimum performance gain between the cpu's you stated, but regardless its performance gain. And I do more than just gaming on my computer.

Well I am just giving advice.

You won't really see any fps gain from the 6 core compared to the 4 core Phenom II.

But with the i5 2500k you would smoke those AMD cpus and the price is about the same.

AMD is really bottom barrel CPUs until they come out with something else.
They aren't bad CPUs but for the amount you spent on the 6 core cpu you could of gotten something much better.

And whether you got a good deal on 8 gigs of RAM you probably will never use that more than 5 gigs with that set up.

The triple channel set up would have been better and cheaper.

And like I mentioned running 2 hard drives in RAID 0 would be best.


It's better to build a PC that has parts which compliment each other for the best bang of the buck and performance.
