Well if we go by D&D, not all dragons are evil, yes there ARE evil dragons but most are not, but they are however jerks.

Vindictus has a good dragon (it's supposedly the guardian of the royal city)
Guild Wars has Glint, the dragon that gives you the ability to save Tyria in the first campaign.
Reputation: 490Horizons, you can play as a Dragon (can get pretty massive and fly, too.) Only certain human NPCs are evil though, most are "good".
I think there is a game on steam where you play as a dragon and have to protect your hoard of gold and treasure. I think it may be called Hoard or Hoarders or something.
Reputation: 41Mabinogi has dragons who are not evil (they help you or are linked with the storyline).
Its not like every game hates dragons..
"That's why I love OnRPG, we can spend two pages
about arguing about swimming."
Dragons are the generic fantasy ''big powerful monster''. Its just easy to put a dragon in the place of a boss I guess.
Reputation: 30it depends on culture, in western culture dragons are beastlike creatures, most times evildoing, while in eastern culture dragons/dragonlike creatures hawe way more intelligence. in china some dragons are symbols of wisdom. so ye not all dargons are bad. but most ppl in games wants to kill them anyway so, devs just creates what gamers wants to do. dont blame dragons, blame gamers/devs![]()
Theres a game thats already out like that. Its called "Hoard". You get it from steam.
Reputation: 18as was mentioned, the red dragonflight in WoW are not evil. You also get the green dragons who are pacifists.
A lot of drawings that date really far back contain dragons,
even inuit drawings where it should be too cold for lizards.
Also there's something about dragons and fireflies. Idk.
All I know is that lizards die if they eat them. ):

Wonderful character, especially in human form![]()
Spyro MMO PL0X
Technically there is no evil to it, granted most dragon lore and games basing them as "evil destroyers of cities and humans" is plain silly. It would just be a basic animal instinct to get other creatures off your territory, in this case it happens to be a giant flying fire breathing creature that is protecting its land when humans come in and take it, get angry when they're attacked and make it out that the dragons are evil. Remember the Indians? Exactly like that, we came in, started taking over the place and they got pissed and fought back and we deemed them evil for it. Sheer irony isn't it?
Everquest had some dragons that were not evil, they were neutral and you could even do quests given by them if you learned the language and worked up the faction with them.
There was also a game quite a few years back where you could play as a dragon, you started out as a baby dragon and then instead of just raising in levels and improving gear you got bigger as you leveled up, and eventually developed mature wings to fly, sharper claws, the ability to breath fire etc.
I think it was called Horizons? I have the discs somewhere but too lazy to scrounge them out rigth now, think it was closed down.
EDIT: Yeah found it, just called Istaria now it seems, before it was Horizons - Empire of Istiaria.

Now that I think about it, almost every time you see a reptilian/dragonic ANYTHING in any type of rpg, they're almost always evil, or at least non-good.
Dragons
Kobolds
Iksar
Draconians
Troglodytes
There's probably more, but I can't think of any.
Because dragons hoard stuff. Stuff like gold and gear which the dragon probably took from villages/castles.
I think...
Reputation: 63Because through countless lores they've been despised as so?
Even when they're evil they can be sentient, as being evil is one predominant sentient trait, but it really comes down as how they're represented
Either as ancient beings as old as time, capable of mind to mind conversations and selfish/selfless goals
or
Huge *** "lizards" who hunt humans for food
etc.
There's a amazing amount of lore on dragons, so, instead of insisting on a answer to it you could've just used google to indulge yourself.
Reputation: 45I didn't read the whole thread, but wanted to say this: The developers haven't watch „How to train your dragon“!
Here's how to train their dragons!
