    What is the answer? I fail at math.

    48÷2(9+3) = ????

    2 or 288?

    Pretty sure it's 288

    First add 9 + 3 which gets you 12.

    The 48 divided by 2 which gets you 24.

    Then 24 x 12 which gets you 288.

    288 is the correct answer. I was thinking it was 48 divided by 24 at first but you only have to add what's inside the parenthesis first then you solve the problem from left to right.

    That doesn't follow the orders of operations though.

    After adding (9+3) don't you multiply it by the 2?

    48÷2(9+3)
    48÷2*12
    24*12
    288

    Brackets drop after you finished what's on the inside. x(y) factually is x*y.
    You work out from left to right and multiply/divide is on the same grade, so it doesn't matter as long you start from the left.

    288 ofcourse man ^^ u do 48÷2(9+3)

    (9+3) then 48÷2 u get 24*12 and then 288 ^^
