Should I get an Xbox 360

I already have a PS3 and my parents are planning to get my little brother one (I have no idea why). Anyway, I thought it would be pointless for them to spend $300 for something we already have so I was thinking about giving my little brother my PS3 and then saving up for a used Xbox 360. But, I was wondering if it was worth it. I've never liked the $60 a year and I don't know what the community is like.

No Flaming Please. All consoles are great. There isn't one that is better than the other overall.

I love the PS3 and always will. I was only thinking about getting the Xbox for 2 reasons:
1. I like how there are more things to do community wise
2. I don't think it's necessary to have 2 PS3's in one house. If I feel like playing anything on the PS3, I can just use my brothers, that is until I move out.

Another of my main concerns is that the next edition of the Xbox and PS3's are coming out next year. If they are I probably wont get one.

Gotta wait until E3 to find out.

First of all you should probably do some research into games you might like for the 360. There's no point in buying a console unless there are games you know you absolutely must have. Secondly, how does that list of games you want for the 360 compare to the PS3? I'm not questioning the quality of games on either console, but rather saying how many games do you know you absolutely love and will play multiple times versus games you have that you don't really play anymore versus games you only think you might like.

That's really one way to choose between the consoles without starting a huge console war. Each system has their own good games, but they both have their selection of bad games, too.

PS3 seems to be moving more towards RPG type games while the 360 is still getting the FPS/sports games, if that helps at all.

Most of the games I play are 3rd-party games that are made for all consoles. For the exclusives I can always use my brother's PS3, I just wont be able to play them a lot.

No point buying xbox 360 if you have a Window computer most of xbox 360 games on the PC and it much cheaper. xbox 360 charge monthly fee to play online. when the Pc can play any fps game for free online


window live games can use xbox 360 contorler just need to buy xbox 360 contorler and xbox 360 game reserver then your computer can be xbox 360 lol

Blaze and Arri both raise good points.

Research the games. If there are enough games you want to play, might as well get it if you've got the cash.

Otherwise, you can put the cash into a PC, which will last you longer, and the games tend to be cheaper.

they both have good games. plus if your parents are willing to waste money on a surplus ps3 then they are probably willing to waste money buying you lots of games. (until you move out).

You have to pay for XBox live.
That's my main reason for not getting one. LOL.

Might as well not buy the 360 because Xbox Live is a waste of money and unless you really want to play 360 exclusives (who would) you shouldn't buy one.

PSN works just as well as XBL, but I honestly hate when I get connected to a game with BRs in it (They all have BR in their name and speak Portuguese). Their lag is so bad it makes it impossible to play.
