Recently I installed Windows 7 (from xp) on my desktop and everything seemed to be going well until I booted it up for the first time. All I got was a blank screen. So I figured that it was because it set my onboard graphics card as the default. Booted from the onboard graphics and worked, did what I needed (disabling drivers, installing the correct ones ect..) and still no luck. I also noticed I had no sound. So I did the same for that and again, nothing... I honestly do think I am doing something wrong but I have no idea what it is. The graphics card is a Nvidia 8500gt, God knows what the sound card is. It's been so long since I've used my desktop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know it's probably something small and stupid but I just need to have someone tell me.
