yeah read this in the newspaper yesterday.

he got the Conspicuous Gallantry cross for his actions.

the gurkhas have always been an integral part of the british army, thats why people have been campaigning for them to get the same aftercare as regular british troops.

If you ever go to Aldershot in Hampshire (south east england) you will see alot of the gurkha families live there and have their kids go to school there.

He killed 3 I believe, from whats been said, and the rest fled.

The story is, it was early in the morning, and some terrorist were trying to set up a roadside bomb, pun told them to identify themselves, and they started shooting.

While stationed as a lone sentry at a checkpoint in Afghanistan's Helmand province on September 17, Pun fended off an attack by up to 30 Taliban fighters.

Oh please. You don't even believe that. They're people fighting in a war. They saw a person fighting against them in the war. This isn't a case of a few thugs mugging a guy who happened to be trained in martial arts.

You don't get directly involved with war without feeling some level of preparation to die. It happens.

Of course. It still sucks that people had to die in a war though.

The thing is, they were planting a road side bomb, which if he didn't deter them from doing so , might've killed many more people. 3 "taliban" is much better, than a bus of children.

I completely believe that, It doesn't matter what the situation is. If you fire first you deserve what you get. If he fired first(Which he wouldn't in that situation) and got killed I would be saying that exact same thing.

You forget these people brought war to them selfs by their actions to us and other nations all around the world, you can't honestly feel sorry for them for that. Now if they were protesters standing up against oppression I would agree with you, but that isn't a case.

There's a wise proverb that goes well in this situation and its:
    "You reap what you sow"

I'm just talking about these (three?) people that got killed, not the people who "brought war to them selfs" which is whole 'nother thing. These people were soldiers doing their job. They all might have been evil people with terrible intentions of bringing suffering to the world, but probably they were just trying to earn money to help their family or maybe they didn't have a choice in joining thier military or maybe they were brainwashed by propaganda or something like that.

Point is they're people, and it ain't cool when people are forced to kill other people. I don't believe in being happy over a person's death. No matter the circumstances.
