naw, he did say that the end of the world will START on May 21st. A series of catastrophic events will come about destroying cities, land, and population all across the globe. The events are suppose to climax to the end of the world aka armageddon on October 21st~ Camping seems to still stand by that date.

Basically Camping said that a "spiritual" judgement did happen, and that Jesus did return but did so in a way we would not notice and instead of beginning the end on May 21st, God decided "to spare his creations hell on earth" but the world will still be "engulfed in fire" on the 21st of October.

So yeah, he needed to come up with more bullshit to make himself look good quick and damned if he didn't try.
