I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.
Funny stuff. Humiliating a company has never been this hilarious.
So whats the point to show how shitty the security is?
@LulzSec
Dissing 4chan nowJust saw a thread on /b/ where they're trying to hunt us: you /b/tards realize that we are everything you've ever tried to be? Damn furries.![]()
Reputation: 36Would be fun to see a attack on Activision
So, now it is.
/b/ VS. LulzSec
Also, they don't just recklessly release the data (logins, user information) just like that.
For example, when a company asks them not to, they simply don't, just like with the brink incident, Bethesda asked them not to release it, since they were just starting with Brink and they didn't.
Reputation: 14If LulzSec wants to show that they are serious, they'd need to take down something along the lines of visa.com and keep it down for at least a couple minutes. That'd be more than /b/ could ever do, although at this point, all they are targeting are MMO's, which, with enough people/botnets, are easy as pie to take out via DDOS. I watched /b/ take down sites like paypal.com and visa.com - I really doubt this "LulzSec" could ever dream of doing that ;p.
May I also make the point that DDOSing is in no way hacking. I wish everyone could understand that. Botnets are a sliightly different story. Nevertheless, embedding a botnet on a random person's computer may or may not be considered hacking depending on how they do it, but taking down a game via mass DOSing is not.
Oh, and they took out MineCraft? A game handled by ONE PERSON? Seriously? Who the hell cares? That is easier than taking out a generic F2P MMO =/.
Oh, and no, SQL injecting isn't hacking. And no, it is not difficult to do. Finding a good spot on a website to do it may or may not be slightly difficult, though. But when you have several people who aren't doing anything at all but just that all day, it becomes a seemingly simplistic task.
That's not true. They didn't release Brink data because they like the company and want to see Skyrim released without any hitches.
Source: http://lulzsecurity.com/releases/bet... STATEMENT.txtPlease find enclosed everything we took, excluding one thing -
200,000+ Brink users. We actually like this company and would
like for them to speed up the production of Skyrim, so we'll
give them one less thing to worry about. You're welcome!![]()
Reputation: 14Mmm, hacking in to server's and exploiting web servers, are we?
I gave them too little credit previously, although I will say that all it takes is a group of half a dozen people with minimum a few years of experience in this "department" and a load of time to do most of what they have done.
But I'll give them more credit for what they've done now. GG, I suppose.
Although everything I said is correct in terms of botnets, SQL injecting, and DDOSing, it appears this group is easily capable of more.
I wonder I wonder. If they wanted to, couldn't they hack Riot's user database and screw up tons and tons of players by leaking their account information all over the Internet...?
Reputation: 63I'd love to see a certain MMO company and their EU department get pummelled by the fury of a thousand fiery Gods and their mjolnirs...
Anyway, when a bunch of worldwide talented guys like these gather, as far as the internet goes, sky might be the limit.
Reputation: 15I wanna see them hack all the search engines so people wouldn't be able to search anything for weeks/month
Reputation: 31Nah, they should do the playerbase of DC Universe Online a favor and just shut the servers back down. It will even give them time to fix their bugs/glitches/exploits xD
Reputation: 45Lol, a lot of requests to hack Activision or Blizzard on their twitter. And they hacked 4chan or w/e is the /b/'s site.
Reputation: 195Oh please! A monkey with a connection could DDOS a server, what they are doing isn't "hacking" infact it's almost as if they are trying to be like Anonymous, despite Anonymous being in a completely different league.
The only reason they did it is to piss off a big portion of the internet community and it's only a matter of time before they piss off the wrong person and end up actually getting hacked themselves.
The second they slip up like the PSN hackers in Spain, the FBI will have them in butt **** prison and who will be laughing then?
For every person i see saying "Oh this is nothing" or "Oh this isn't hacking this is easy as ****" i'd like to see any one of you do something similar. Until then, stop QQing.
