EQ II is a good game, but Lotro for me was epic because of my personal interests in the lotr franchise. I'd give them both a try regardless though.
Reputation: 28Neither, unless you're gonna pay for premium/subscription - then you won't have any restrictions.
Problem solved.

Or LOTRO if you really have to, EQ2 sucked dick before and now....OH GOD.
I would personally choose EQ2 just because they had more support for F2P (1-year free trial, and now mostly F2P), whereas LOTRO I purchased, installed, and couldn't connect to servers (yes I know how to fix my internet ports... Did not work).
Reputation: 30its posible u downloaded old client coz there were 2 companies hosting game, one now transfered database to another.
lotro uses turbine system, so basicly u can get anything in game without spending real $. dunno about eq2 realy, but when i cheked, its was more like more open trial than f2p game. some nice things was premium only.
Reputation: 52No way of earning in EQ2, but like I said, only content you're missing are races(Mostly cosmetic), classes(Free class choices are every possible archetype), equipping the newest expansion of equips/bags, chat channels(You don't need world channels, they're mostly just spam or chatter, join a guild and you have access). Only real big thing you miss in EQ2x by being free is bag slots and the best equips at endgame(Level 82 = Masterwork = Better than level 80 raid gear, level 90 equips are the expansion).
Having the full game area/content-wise free though, it's a nice benefit.
