Default Molecule that "Turns on the Immortality Gene"

A pioneering study published in the Rejuvenation Research Journal today shows that a natural Telomerase Activator... reduces the percentage of short telomeres in immune cells and restores and remodels the aging human immune system to be more like that of a younger individual.

When expressed (turned on), the gene (hTERT) located on Chromosome number 5p15.33 activates the enzyme telomerase. Human cells can keep living and dividing indefinitely when telomerase is continually present; i.e. the cells become immortal

    We'll all die eventually.

    Seriously, we don't deserve immortality.

Nah, not yet anyway. Some people would do good with it but there's just to many people that are money and power hungry these days.

That's the point. They'd be the ones getting it.

We don't deserve it. Don't need to say it more than once, but whatever.

Life without death is utterly pointless and will only lead to bigger problems, and thus immortality is probably the worst thing we could discover.

I doubt being immortal would be too easy so even if they find out how to work t his shit there'll be plenty challenges.

But say this shit was ready to go in the next 10 years I smell overpopulation like **** unless they pass some law to kill you when you hit 1,000 or summin lol. But srsly though I'm sure people would still find ways too go dieing.

And back onto my first point there'll probably be some point where you can't "be immortal" anymore and then this doesn't reverse age more than likely either so wouldn't you be stuck at a certain age and say you were like 80 or some shit you'd have tons of aches and shit so who wants to live with that.

Lastly, this might all just be the beginning of a zombie apocalypse : O

who the heck wants to be immortal anyway? I'd love to live for about a thousand years...but that's about all...

seriously, immortal means you'd be on this earth for another 4-5 billion years unless someone is kind enough to stab you. I can barely keep myself entertained for my miniscule lifespan of 100 years

You won't be immortal, but it will extend your life to some point of being more older than 100 years.
However, being immortal is simply stupid.

I'll take immortality (eternal youth to be exact). I'll make sure to visit your grave spots from time to time every 1000 years or so... if there isn't a building built over it.

If this were to happen, expect to see suicide rates rocket. Would you really want to live forever(Or a period more than 100 years?). Just imagine the health complications that would arise.

Cells won't die and they'll continue to divide infinitely, hmm? Anyone else see a problem with that?

"The bottom line is the researchers concluded that TA-65® appears to improve health measures in aging mice without significantly increasing cancer risk."
For those who didn't read the entire article, and are saying it will cause cancer right off the bat.
