Onrpg...mmorpg?

Well, I've got an extra server comp that could hold about 100 players or so and I know a engine that's pretty decent with admin controls and such so we could all work on it. Would any of you be interested in making a small MMO as a side project for fun?

Edit: It will of course be 2D or 2.5D but there will be a working paperdoll system and many other features. I don't think this will get to serious but I think it would be something fun to work on and create.

What we need

More Artist - Anybody that can make basic photoshop stuff should be able to modify pre existing pixels. I can't do it myself but I've seen some good art on Onrpg.

Map Editor Team: This team will be in charge of creating the maps based upon the storyline/lore and managing starting points, portal points etc.

Story Writers: The name should be self explanatory but the story can't just be some mumbo jumbo, it has to make sense and also be interesting.

Well, all I know is that I would like to create something that's not oriental chinese or mythology based backgrounds...

I want something unique but I think everyone that's taking part in the project should have a say in what we make. I was looking at something scifi ish but with a different kind of background that would set it apart from most storylines.

If It's 2D I could probably take a shot at some Pixel Art, if that's the direction you wanted to go in.

I wouldn't mind writing the story at all if you could just pm me with what you want me to do. Like I just don't really know where you want to take it other than that i get you want it to be diff from all the chinese/korean mmo's stories lol

What would you guys think of going a more sandboxy route? Say...if a player hits a ceartin "Switch" in the game world then a quest/event opens up. It would be possible to add in housing with resources and such and make player towns. I'm just throwing this idea out there. =/

Now that that's done..I'm sure we can figure out some kind of storyline once everyone agrees on a setting. I just through the futuristic setting out there but others might have an opinion of there own.

But since we stopped at dawns donuts and drank coffee...I might do a little bit of work on this.

Edit: We should all get Xfire. We could revive the Onrpg chatroom that's on there which would help us communicate alot easier. We can use this thread for votes and brainstorming when were not on at the same time. I might be rambling..no sleep and a lot of coffee. =/
