Steam power is still used a lot today, it powers most of the world. The downside of it is, it takes the burning of material, such as coal, to create sufficient heat to produce the needed output. That is, until recently. Today, nuclear, geothermal, and solar power are also used, along with fossil fuels, to turn the worlds steam turbines.
When you hear a power plant burns coal to produce power, it really means that the plant burns coal to produce the steam required to create power.
Reputation: 72So not only do you want a tank of water to lug around, you want to burn wood to turn that water into steam to power your engine? So if you run out of fuel you just find a nearby tree and cut it down to power your car again?
Hey you know, we have this really neat thing, it's called a combustion engine.
