Sorry, but that's just silly.
EDIT: For people who don't know what he was going to do...
He was going to make a memorial of the tragedy in Minecraft...and stream it...
Reputation: 490It's a good idea with good thoughts behind it, but this is the wrong forum to talk about this. Maybe a bit to soon, too.

You can build so many things in Minecraft. You could make all the names of the people that died in the attacks in the sky, save the map, and host it up on a server open to anyone for a while. Just put some mods up that make it impossible for anyone to build or destroy without admin rights.
Be creative. Maybe he could put up a server and invite some of the most well-known people in minecraft to build a building or something. Maybe a do a bit of research on the people who died and see if there's anything they liked that you could theme the buildings off of.
Maybe a massive tower with 80+ floors, each floor themed after a different person who died?
Hell, if planned right, and executed correctly, this could become the world first virtual memorial. Maybe you could get the Norwegian government or some group to pay for the cost of hosting the server, and the server could, like I said earlier, be opened to anyone, just turn of everyone's ability to build and destroy.
There's probably a bunch of Minecraft LP'ers who would, if it was offered to them correctly, would be more than willing to help with building part of the memorial. Maybe you can even get the support of Notch, though he's Swedish.
They had memorials in Second Life. No 1 gave a shit. What makes you think minecraft will be any different. Do note you can build anything in Second Life too. And they look 10x better than minecraft.
