Key word here is "currently" only confirmed for japan. That doesn't mean it wont get a US release in the future.

They can have my money and my life. I'd plan on spending much of both on this game if it comes out for NA. The Phantasy Star series has been getting progressively better and that looks like it's going to be epic.

I wonder how they are going to handle the weapon system this time around. I didn't see people switching weapons but I'm hoping you will still be able to.

Phantasy Star Universe US was a failure IMO. JP Version is still going strong I hear.

umm, youre really stupid if you think this wouldnt come to USA lol

you do know their last subscription based mmo got a NA release only a month and a half after japans right? im guessing PSO 2 gets released the same time for atleast NA and JP regions.

PSU was a failure because people were expecting a legit mmo and they wasted their time on a 1 player story mode that nobody even cared about with the mmo being more of a side game. its like theyre doing everything right this time.

It was only a failure on PC/PS2 servers and that was because of the hackers who messed up the economy. Xbox servers are still up IIRC.

Yeah that was true. I was sitting at the cap at 60 for while, then 70 hunting rare boards *sigh*....then came 80. And most the content added was really just more missions with one or two of them being the main one every did (e.g. seabed). They did increase the meseta drop amounts and add in that critical thing for melee though.

Still, I enjoyed it a lot. When you had a good party things just rolled smooth, even when dealing with the universally despised Jarba. Those were some fun times.

For sure! I think I ended up finally calling it quits at level 117 myself, updates weren't coming, items just kept getting more expensive, plans did not want to drop(or turn out worthless/break), and I was slowly getting sick of farming the light/darkness dragon. I do wish I had pics though, my old HDD super bombed and I lost all my music and photos...*sigh*

I MISS MY DANCING BOOMA ROOM!

Can't wait to make a RAcaseal, unsure if I'll make my PSO or PSU version...

Still wish they changed their battle system though. Faster pace and pressing certain buttons to unleash skills.

they changed the combat system allready..just look to this video
and compare this fighting style to the first PSO and PSU. PSO2
is so much faster and much more combos. I wonder why you didnt
saw that

Looking forward to this one, the combat looks awesome and fastpaced. I always had a soft spot for PSO style graphics and PSO2 is feeding me some eyecandy.

The day this comes to the US is the day I get to be a very happy panda.

I just hope they don't mess with the formula too much. I kinda liked being able to solo almost everything in PSO:BB. Kinda. Sorta. Was hard as heck to do it but it felt so rewarding if you pulled it off.

I still remember the twin dragons, they gave me more trouble than Falz did >.>

Oh! And the ruins with the remixed songs from the old games. I really really really hope they do that with this one. Old game remixes are so good :3

they really need to bring back MAG's and the rare drops in red boxes. Nothing was more satisfying then spending tons of time & meseta on telepipes in the rappy quest level to get a blue rappy or one of those red flower monsters, just to get that Comet Star

I played psobb for a good month, psu very briefly due to there being very little players, none of which actually wished to play the game >_>

This reminds me more of a weird mix of gundam gunz and monster hunter which wouldn't be a bad thing but the combat really looks just..meh...and the strange robotic suits threw me off quite a bit but I'm biased due to not enjoying that specific genre of anime. If it ends up having the strategy of monster hunter however I might give it a go.

Oh and I miss mags too

I heard the phrase "Original Combo" in English and just saw how fluidly that person switched weapons during a combo...man, I am on this. It's strange because I know for certain that this was something I had said I wished to see in this series (or any mmorpg for that matter) as well as other people did and it really looks like someone was paying attention.

One of the main things I've always liked about Phantasy Star, you'd pretty much never run into two characters who looked the same, even if you did find someone with the same name. Looks like that's going to be true in PSO2.
