True gambling with poker is actually pretty boring. You only play once out of every 20 hands, sometimes less actually. It's more fun when you play around with your friends for oreos and people are doing stupid things like calling all in on the first hand.

I've been trying to get into it over the past few years, started learning the basic rules and tried my hand at it many times online. I'd really like to have a Poker night with my friends but none of them know how to play it, so I just stick to Texas Hold 'Em on MSN Games.
Wouldn't play for money online though, not just yet.

I've played a few rounds of No-Limit Hold'Em on Pokerstars over the past few years. (Yay for lying about your age online.) Played anything from 6 seat sit & go's to fast play tables to 20,000 seat freerolls. I've not yet played with real money as I'm not quite that good yet...either that or it's just more difficult playing for free as people go all in...all the time and a few people end up with massive lucky advantages, which they wouldn't have in a cash game.
Hmm...now that I'm 18 I may look into it playing with cash (small amounts obviously...like the $5 tournaments on pokerstars).
I've watched a few EPT's when I've seen them on tv. I find professional play a lot better to watch as they know what they are doing and don't just go for it 100% luck style, which is my biggest annoyance with free to play poker. I'd rather have skill involved.

And yeah, playing in freerolls for nothing does take away your skill edge to a certain extent as the chips the people are playing with have no value, so they don't care what happens with them, therefore even if you do play ABC poker you can still get sucked out on by the pure amount of people jamming it with draws.

I play mostly no limit hold'em cash games at casinos. I do pretty well once I relax and get in the groove...or have a beer. I love slow rolling/trapping. If playing with new people I'll even chase down shitty (but cheap) hands a few times and show them.
Friends used to get together weekly for poker night. It was fun but rarely happens anymore.
I was doing live tournaments for a bit. I could consistently make top 7 or thereabouts.
I abhor limit hold'em however.
