What was he/she doing there in the first place?
He was milking a cow?
Reputation: 1151Probably observing baby cows and decided to try it out for himself.
Who was the first person that looked at a kiwi and decided to eat that shit?

Reputation: 1151You guys think back in the day the tribes of nomads used to have one dumbass guy they'd make eat all kindsa junk to see if it was poisonous?
Like a designated poison discoverer?
Naw it was prolly just to see if things were edible.
Although I feel like most people as opposed to one would have done it but I could be incredibly wrong as always.
Kiwi's are beautiful...on the inside. And now I'm lusting for green seedy goodness thanks to you =/
Reputation: 30Who was the first person to leave milk out and let it ferment, and what was he/she thinking?
btw plain yoghurt and golden kiwis are <3
Reputation: 198better yet
whose idea was it to start STUDYING in the first place?
id have to say most foundings are accidents. Left a jar of fruit out on accident decided to test and see if it is still good, get shit faced, leave another jar out.
Reputation: 490Well, since the first people to do it were probably humans (or one of ancestors), I would say the person observed a baby calf getting milk from its mother and decided "Hey, if that milk makes big strong cows out of weak calfs, perhaps my baby would benefit from it."
Back then, they had no refrigeration, so when milk went bad, and you had nothing else left, you had to at least give it a try before you died due to lack of nutrition.
Most things we've discovered were done so in increments and with intelligence. How it began is nothing like how we do it today.
There are very little accidents that lead to great discovery. Most of it is hard-work, observation, and trial-and-error.
Reputation: 882they probably used to drink milk from woman in the past too (not just baby's, grown people too, to survive), so the next step would be obviously trying it from animals :P
