Reputation: 72you should stop judge games you dont know shit. you just one the gamer that fall in the hole other dumb player that think it awsome game with pretty graphic. graphic dont make a game fun. the gameplay and combat system and crafting make the game fun. crappy graphic game can be world best game if it done the right way. minecraft was done right give people feature to create there own land and the graphic in that game is old 3d polygon
Reputation: 167It will always exist. Do we stop playing table-top RPGs cause we have MMORPGs and single player RPGs? No... Variety is a good thing.
LMAO, I remember when I posted a thread about action based MMORPGs (well I called it realtime MMORPGs, but they are action based MMORPGs)>>>> http://www.onrpg.com/boards/43462.html
No, it does not. If a game is outdated it means that it doesnt come up to the standarts of modern technology.
And yes p'n'c is pretty outdated. First p'n'c I played was diablo 1 back in 96.. 15 years ago man.
You would also say that cars from that time are pretty much outdated but they don't have to be a bad car.
I believe people have their own version which they consider as "Point'n'Click".
For example, I consider a MMO(RPG) as "Point'n'Click" where you select a target and all attacks afterwards which you do via a single key-press are homing to that target.
I dislike that and prefer projectiles and melee attacks that are actually evadeable. Predicting the enemies movement and knowing where to shoot considering the projectile's speed.
That way, especially in PvP and of course depending on the game and its freedom of movement, you can start analyzing the enemies behaviour. For example to which direction he tends to evade attacks.
Now this is my opinion and it can be that others don't agree with me but I think that that kind of game requires more "skill" or better said more awareness.
Anyway to get back to your question in which you imply that D2 is a "Point'n'Click", I'll say that I don't consider D2 a "Point'n'Click" and therefore does not suck like -- hell I don't even say that "Point'n'Click" suck, I think they're just boring as watching a blade of grass moving in the wind.
--------
Okay so alot of posts been made while i took forever to write this, then what would be a good name to describe these types of game instead of "Point'n'Click"?
I always thought it would be considered as that because all you do is hover your mouse over the target and click once. Auto-attack will kick in and do the rest for you. (Click, as in pressing and releasing, not holding)
