I think I just had a happygasm...
Reputation: 162It's not a true open world MMO though is it?
I own console and PC, I know how it feels in both directions. I still play Borderlands and that poor game was badly ported to PC. Still one of my favorite PC games though (~250 hours in it) but it did need some tweeking to make it more acceptable. I just hope PSO2 stays nice and optimized for PC, would much rather not have to go to a console version because they wreck the PC version to make it work on consoles. Then again I barely play consoles anymore as is, if the PC version gets messed up I may end up not even playing![]()
Reputation: 72this game only worthly to be a f2p. or b2p. not p2p monthly because vindictus and dragon nest do same method for dungeons
Reputation: 10FAP FAP FAP
is there any more yet? and guy who saying vindic/dragon nest will even compare... get real
Reputation: 72the dungeon system is lobby not open world. you have to form party before go in dungeon just like pso. it wont do well in p2p. phantasy star unvirse 2 went b2p and the server was free mostly they do same thing with this game make b2p and make little cash shop and let you play f2p
Reputation: 63We're talking about PSO here, not PSU
PSO has a lot more followers and it will still please PSU players.
Seriously, PSO has a huge background and you're comparing f2p titles as competition to a whole different setting/world, despite the short similarities you might think they have.
I'd b2p and p2p the eff out of this game for MAGs and nostalgia alone, if we ever get it.
Reputation: 72pso got shutdown in NA. when the dreamcast died off. japan verson stay on much longer. i tell only way this game keep living in na it go only f2p or b2p with no montly fee. it nothing wrong going f2p with cash shop most mmorpg are they way. bizzard are just milking they stop alot game when wow become famous
Reputation: 162Or what hes even talking about. PSO was highly successful over here. Even after the DCs market death the servers for PSO stayed up for quite some time. Then there were BB and GC versions, which also did well.
Also it's god damn HILARIOUS that you think DFO and Vindictus are even remotely similar to PSO.
they're room based dungeon crawlers okay they share ONE feature.
Like, I guess pokemon and Final Fantasy must be just alike, since they're both turn based rpgs, right?
Some of you guys need to turn your fanboy dials down a bit and see the real picture here. I will consider buying PSO2 as long as it's just B2P but P2P, hell no. Vindictus, despite your obvious fanboyism, is a good game with a decent amount of content. Dragon Nest will have months if not, a years worth of content to add by the time we get our hands on this game which, more then likely, will be a previous version with less content.
While I was a huge fan of PSO I wont let that cloud my judgment and see that this type of game is not worth a sub fee, especially since we will get an outdated and less supported version of the game. There will be quite a few interesting games coming out by the time this game might even reach us. Try to refrain from nostalgia ruining your clear judgment on the value of it.
Reputation: 63You're always off mark, aren't you?
No one here said either V or DN were poor games.
They're on a whole different setting, y'know, medieval style fantasy?
Whilst PSO is sci-fi fantasy, with a lot more titles as a solid foundation and marked the action-RPG gender.
I also find it disappointing that the only argument you threw to make a point, the outdated versions, happens equally in f2p titles just like Vindictus, DFO and DN...
So, whilst I'd never p2p for any of the above, I'll gladly do so for PSO2 due to past experiences and the setting it is in, so, there's no fanboism here, only ******ed arguments/comparisons that fail to bring a point across.
Regardless of P2P or not, I will definitely play this. I have played PSO and PSU and enjoyed both to the fullest it can be enjoyed due to lack of content and etc.
PSO2 has high quality/tier character customization as seen from the videos and is one of the best I've seen for customization/uniqueness. Other games can't even compare but this is only customization which is a small part of the game.
If PSO2 has
-just as much or more photon arts, skills, magic, weapon skills, whatever you want to call them as PSO and PSU along with the variety of weapon designs
-MAGs from PSO and crafting system from PSU along with the player rooms plus the market counter
-similar storylines for quests and scenarios as executed in PSO
-PVP, I liked PSO's pvp even though it felt super buggy.
-different kinds of mission like in PSO that involves some sort of puzzles.
-enough content
then it will be a high quality and successful game. 'Content' and how it is delivered will be the most important factor whether or not this game will succeed.
I never said that you said or that anyone said that it's a poor game. Though just cause PSO is scifi/fantasy doesn't change the fact that it's a lobby based MMO just like Vindictus, DN and such. "Whole different setting" doesn't change what the gameplay is like.
I find your reaction to this is disappointing. Don't get all butthurt cause someone doesn't share your fanboyism and yes, despite what you think, paying for a game just for it's name is fanboyism. If you're too blind to see the point cause of it then that's your own problem, not mine cause I wont be the one wasting money over it.
Since you missed the point, yes, Vindictus and DN were like that but then again, I didn't pay for them and never did put money in them. Where as PSO2 you "may" (since its not confirmed) have to buy the game on top of a sub fee for the same thing. That is being ******ed, not the argument which wasn't an argument till you seemed to have a problem with it.
Reputation: 63I've said it time and time again
I'd pay for it for the setting (sci-fi) and gameplay of action-rpg, since I've played previous titles and they're not falling far from the tree, then why is it a huge stretch to admit I'd b2p and p2p for something I deem p2p quality, if only to keep the f2p community at bay.
Second of all, you're the one throwing out fanboism accusations when the only thing that happened was the dismissal of the ever flawed xBlazex logic, or lack of.
Why should I care that my version is "outdated" if I'm paying to get it properly localized, and in case you don't know SEGA has this habit of providing their areas of service localized events/contentSince you missed the point, yes, Vindictus and DN were like that but then again, I didn't pay for them and never did put money in them. Where as PSO2 you "may" (since its not confirmed) have to buy the game on top of a sub fee for the same thing. That is being ******ed, not the argument which wasn't an argument till you seemed to have a problem with it
So, we wouldn't just be puppets to another version, as f2p models often are.
You get what you pay for rings a bell?
