Tale-of-Tales: Endless Forest is a neat free-to-play screensaver-game (but you can play it without it being on screensaver... actually now that I think about it, it's been years since I played, so idk if it still works as a screen saver...).
In the game, "You are a deer. So are the other players. You meet each other in an endless forest on the internet. The setting is idyllic, the atmosphere peaceful. You communicate with one another through sounds and body language."
The game is a very peaceful game, and is most enjoyed by those with a big imagination.
You don't have to register to play, you just have to download (50M

and install.
If you get into it enough, you can name your deer and get a unique pictogram that other players can use to identify you with. Apparently there are now two (or more?) generations of pictograms. I have a generation One Pictogram, which are apparently in high demand, as when I checked my email today, I saw that I had a message on the T-o-T forums, when I checked, the message was some guy asking me to "donate" my Gen 1 picto account to him.
If you have ever seen Princess Mononoke, the deers look similar to him, deer body, human-like face.
Occasionally, the developers will log in and take over two statues that are in the center of the forest and play around with the deer, does all kind of neat affects.
Throughout the forest there are (I think, haven't played in a long while...check the websites FAQs >.>) stuff you can pick up to customize your deers antlers, coat, and face (mask).
