I'm not saying that to be harsh. I think I'm just confirming a suspicion that you already have.
It's not because you're a bad guy. They're probably too self-centered and caught up in their own world of being cool that they don't recognize or don't want to recognize that you're just a normal, nice person who wants to hang out.
