    Hmm... FPS are outside my realm of enjoyment, but this game concept reminds me of another game that was talked about here.

    Do you guys remember the game from about 2 years ago which on one side you had humans with guns and on the other side you had an army of bug-type aliens? It was all the rage over here when it just came out... And then it basically disapeared within a month when everyone wanted just to play the bugs (since it was unique) instead of the bog standard "humans in fps mode". That, and the massive balancing issues that existed due to how utterly different the playstyle from each side was.

    I'm predicting the exact same fate for this game, but I've been wrong in the past. I hope they'll prove me wrong: I definitively approve of original ideas!

    I think you're thinking of Battle Swarm, really bad game IMHO.

    That game had RTS elements, which is apparently a stupid mix with FPS.

    This game is TPS + FPS, both of shooter genre, i don't see a problem syncing with each other.

    Battleswarm! Yes, that was it... I couldn't remember the name for the life of me.

    I agree that the gameplay style is not as different here than it is in Battleswarm, but there's still some major differences. Purely melee team vs purely ranged team, flying versus no flying, massive health versus regular, no resources versus ammo... It'll be a balancing hell. It's not impossible, but it'll certainly be extremely hard.

    Have they stated any sort of progression at all (Better guns, new dyno types, ect), or is it completely fixed? I wonder how one-sided the ratio of people interested of playing the humans instead of the dynos will be...

    I'll admit I have no current plans about playing the game since I have no interest in FPS games (Only shooting games I play are those like S4 where it's third person with agile characters), but since the idea is definitively uncommon I'm still interested to see how it'll pan out in the grand scheme of things

    Lets see:
    * Melee monsters vs ranged humans
    * Third person on monsters, first person on humans
    * Lunge attacks
    * Charger type monster class
    * Heavy weapons human, with slow movement.

    Ah, I remember this game. It's called Natural Selection

    Oh yea, the sequel is coming along really smoothly.

    Hmm though even that has some imbalances, it's still in development. I believe human is harder to play since it requires a lot more coordination. (But when there is teamwork, both sides seem pretty well off) Err, though aliens can have ranged attacks too.

    I also have to say this sort of gameplay is similar to Zombie mode on Team Fortress. Generally the maps will favor one over the other but teamwork is still another big factor. (Zombies tend to lack it most of the time ._.)
