City of Heroes Now Reactivating

City of Heroes/villains is now reactivating former players of the game as premium members. The activations will take place over this weekend. Seeing as how I didn't see this posted yet, I decided to take the liberty of telling the community.

yeah all my past free trial accounts are activated and playable. just go download the client and try to log in. i was surprised when mine were playable again. also u will want side accounts since u only get 2 free slots for chars unless u buy slots >_<

Yeah i was gonna make a thread yesterday but i forgot

I haven't yet decided what server I'm going to play on. I'm going to wait for the froobs to join before I choose.


But right now I'm playing on Champion, because I had an extra character slot on there for some reason.

Virtue is an unofficial RP server, and Freedom is usually called a "farm" server due to very popular in Atlas Park, power leveling offers. Before Issue 21 only those 2 servers were decently populated. Now it looks like more people are playing on different servers, but I'm pretty sure it will die out after a while, just like this new VIP only server - Exalted.
European servers are pretty much dead compared to Freedom or Virtue, so I highly recommend creating a character on one of those two servers. So if you'd like to ask some vets for hints with enhancing abilities, builds etc. Freedom/Virtue should be your server.
Also I'd recommend you creating a Hero (not praetorian, nor Villain) because from my experience redside (Rogue Isles), and praetoria are pretty much ghost towns.
OF COURSE it will change while full f2p comes out, but for now, I'd suggest you create a hero.

Depends, because you keep any slots you have unlocked or bought before on your account. Let's say someone has the 12 month vet reward (every 12 months of vet rewards you get you get an extra slot, IIRC), the person will have 3 slots. If they bought GR before, they get an extra 2 slots.

But yeah, I guess if you've never played CoH before you might as well make 10 accounts >_>. I would designate one as your main account, though, because asking people to add 10 accounts to their global friends list (which is cross server, cross character compared to the local friends list which is that character only) is a bit unreasonable :P

Guys if you 'miss' the games or have the money to sub then do it... support the games you like. This is why p2p games are dying.

Yeah i got the same when i try to login on my old account.
But when i login on my old trial accounts they work fine.

I just did Live Chat support with them, then they made it active again. Support was pretty good fixed in like 5mins

Once the serves come back up everyone should be able to make a free account. Old accounts are already activated.
