Default Potential Facebook Killer (for men)

    http://www.heraldsun.com.au/technolo...-1226153882659

FACEBOOK has come under fire after it was revealed adult sites could show up in people's Facebook account timelines.

Technology blog Techwag has warned Facebook users to prepare for embarrassing connections to porn sites to start appearing in their timelines once the new feature goes live in coming weeks.

The timeline feature means you will now have an ongoing and persistent record of your activities when on Facebook and so will others who can view your page.

What this means is that if a porn site uses passive sharing options on Facebook, has “like” buttons on its page or allows people to sign into their site using your Facebook details then all of that will now be recorded on your timeline.
As if facebook wasnt creepy enough now.

Is there any option to turn that off? I definitely go on sites I don't want everyone knowing about. Porn or otherwise.

****ing damnit they always have to mess up the simplest of things with stupid bullshit.

Lol well, I do not want that people find out about my clan activity and my sex toy buying obsession, so yea...

Funny is, it will be impossible to completely block, because facebook is stupid.

How so? Well you can block it from showing up in your timeline, but all apps will have access to it and by this be able to notify it to your friends, if they think that they might share your interest.

Can be very akward, to find out that the dude I hardly know is into breeding the Death's-head Hawkmoth too...

I have everything turned off on my facebook. Places, people tagging me in stuff, searching for me, everything.

The only app I have allowed is PSN. It posts trophies and PS store purchases.

    Hopefully this won't effect me.

I'm gonna leave that stuff open for all of my friends to see. And I'll leave comments like:

"Yeah this one is totally fap worthy."

Hell, most of my female friends on my facebook are exes, I've railed each one of them, and they know I watch porn. I think I'm safe.

Use a different browser for porn.

If you use Chrome, use FF. Vice versa.

Yeah, but wtf gives facebook the right to make us have to hide our personal activities?

    How ridiculous.

Soon enough, the FBI will outsource their filekeeping efforts to be replaced by facebook.

Uhm he likes the terrorist cookbook and bought a Che biography in 2006...
Also he watched the Soderberg movie in January 2009 and torrented a collection of Marx's writings the day after.
To bad that it's not enough to build circumstantial evidence in a case, because he was browsing the web for companies that produce cheap personalized fur-suits from 7 minutes into the movie (8 pm) until 3am, when he went to sleep. Facebook also noticed, that he didn't read one of the books in the torrent once, though he boasted about possessing them during three distinctive trolling acts.

I'm gonna google sites that do this. Every single person on my facebook must think I'm a perv!:3 (No, it's not a excuse. I would log out if I didn't want to make use of this xD)

I can see this as a tool for trolling in the future. Mainly logging into a friends account and go on a spree of questionable porn.

When you signed up for it.

Thing to remember about FaceBook is that you're not the customer. The advertisers are. You're what makes the product FB sells (advertising space) worth purchasing.

Just use private or incognito mode. So nothing shows up in your history either.

I've already recently deleted my Facebook account and started blocking anything Facebook and Google+ related. Their invasion of privacy is getting ridiculous. Then again it sounds kinda silly to want privacy on a website you sign up to with intentions of sharing everything you do.
