I'm a new user here, so forgive me please, if I've created this Thread in incorrect category. I'm not from English-speaking country and my language can be not enough normal.

Well. In this Thread I want to discuss one Russian game: My Lands: Black Gem Hunting. The game is not very old - it was created 2 years ago, but it is very popular game in all Russian-speaking countries. It was rewarded as the best game of 2010 and 2011 years.

The slogan of this game is "The first on-line strategy game where you can earn and withdraw money". Of course it isn't simple to earn money in this game, but it's possible and it's legal! In the game you can find Black Gem - the most valuable resourse. You can use the Black Gem for getting some benefits in the game or withdraw it to an electronic purse.

I've played this game in Russian for several months and I've discovered many secrets of succesful strategy in the game. The first secret is to be the first! The game is being tested now and the registration is now available. But October 15 the game will be restarted. And all options, all benefits, all features will be available.

It is interesting for me to play this game, to communicate with people in it. And it my dream is to learn English better, to understand other cultures. Today about 95% (~600 people) of players in the game are from Russian-speaking countries. But the server can contain about 12 000 players. I hope that soon there will be much more English-speaking players, so I invite you to register in the game in order to play, have fun, communicate, discover new things and even earn money!

Excellent game design for a city building persistent browser based game. But the company has no experience advertising in English so I assume that they will have trouble getting an English-playerbase (edit: without losing money).

There are a few hundred Russian players atm. From whom I've met in the past two days.

Yes, the game is very interesting. It becomes the most interesting when you will get rank "Suzerain" (5 stars). You will be able to have Heroes! Heroes can use many powerful artefacts. Artefacts are collected in Sets, Same Artefact can be included into several Sets. Completing Set of Artefacts on one Hero has extra effects.

You can get your first artefact - Shield of Divaine Wisdom - for completing 150 quests. Some of this quests requires Black Gem (BG). The cost of all this quests is about 2 000 - 3 000 BG. But this artefact costs much more. A month ago the administration of the game added the oportunity for gamers to sell and buy artefacts in the game. The cost of Shield of Divaine Wisdom is about 5 000 BG now because it is very valuable artefact. It gives +2 000 / hour sciense stydying.

I've socialized with 15 Russians / Ukrainians in the last two days and I plan to apply to Gorets' alliance since he was Rank 1 on a Military server (like Mining servers but you can attack players 1 rank below your own).

You can play on several servers at the same time! I know some russian players who play on 8-10 servers. So you can register on the mining server now and then you can create an account on the Military Server if it will be interesting for you. You wiil have the same nickname and password on all servers - you will have no need to rerigester.

This means that they rely on small-scale advertising because they do not have a promotional video. But they do not know which websites do news-promotions and free advertising

Even the game I co-developed had a similar amount of users (grew from 9,000 to 50,000 a couple months after our advertising campaign). And that was a low-budget campaign ($200-$400). But with mainstream advertising, this amount of players would cost $2000-$5000 (assuming 5-10 cents per registered player).

I wonder if I should contact.

I can gather a group of enthusiastic russian players who are interested in advertising this game. Some of them are veterans of game and they have a lot of experience in this game. If you can help it will be grate!

I have no interest in advertising before either:
1) I learn how to play.
2) The referral program is implemented in English.
