    Default Stellar Impact [Discussion]

    So TotalBiscuit reviewed a game:

    http://www.stellar-impact.com/stellar_impact/index.html

    And now it's mainstream:

    MOBA Mechanics:

    - Laning
    - Pushing
    - Towerdiving
    - Item Upgrades
    - Rune Page
    - Skillbars (customizable)
    - 6v6 DoTA
    - 6v6 Survival
    - Warding
    - Teleports
    - Flash
    - Stealth
    - Skillshots (torpedo)
    - Unique targeting (guns on the side of your ship means maneuvering into enemy blindspot)
    - Upgradable creeps
    - Personal creeps (follow you until they die)
    - Crowd control (slows, silence, weapon-jammer)
    - Research (required for all upgrades)
    - Unique tanking system (everyone can tank for each other by blocking enemy line of sights)
    - Shields shields (regenerate quickly when not taking damage)
    - Newbie-friendly (I have 40 wins and 10 losses after three days of playing)
    - Item Builds (armor pen, shield pen, increased range, speed, damage, tankiness)
    - Active community (can find a match instantly)
    - Carrying (if you're fed then it's easy-kills)
    - Deny (you can't kill your own creeps but you can ignore the crystal which summons more creeps per wave)

Basically what I like the degree of customization, the competitive balancing, the DoTA maps (lots of maps), the movement-system, and most importantly:
    - decent physics for projectiles and blocking them

I am a Physics student, so I appreciate that! IGN: MapleSyrup (ranged-carry)

I'll post a list of livestreamers here if you are a livestreamer.

Seen this on Bay12, I'm actually kind of interested and MOBA games usually don't hold me for that long. The only thing that looks cruddy is the lag spikes.

Just from part of his review:

If you play for free you can't get passed mod 1 of the ship.

This is going to turn a lot of people off I think, which means the company will definately have to review their choice of forcing people to pay to really play the game!

A trial is meant to allow people to get a TASTE of the game, then they can buy to fully experience the meal. you can't just give everyone the entire thing, then theres nothing left to pull in profit.

When you ask for a sample at a food kiosk, its usually a tiny piece of the meal on a tooth pick. not the whole thing, and honestly having already played this, the small amount of the game u do experience with the trial is enough to pull in people.

Yep still beats the 40 euros i would have to fork for starcraft 2 for only 1 map in star battle. Stopped loling around thx to this, deserters might be a problem at start, but they get kicked soon enough afterwards. If only they used the engine of nexus the jupiter incident.
