Default Theory on how make File size smaller?

Theory on how make File size smaller? I just wonder why no one figure way make data compress smaller to point only be like 5 mb when you extract going to 30gb. i think figure way to make data smaller will help use less room on harddrive and dont need to make harddrive space bigger and less time download big files

Data is already as small as it can be, we just need to make devices that can hold more data and retain a smaller size. And we're getting there. In twenty years, probably less, something as small as a pinky nail will be able to hold tens or hundreds of TB of data.

The actual data is already made up of bits or bytes or w/e, which is the smallest unit possible for data.

MB, GB, TB, etc... are all just ways of "shortening" things, so we don't have to say "One hundred thousand four hundred and fifty point zero six bytes/bits/whatnot of data". Instead we can say that in GB's and it would be smaller.

I don't know how many bytes are in a KB, or in a MB, or GB, etc... I just know that's how it works.

Apparently, however using KGB is a waste cause barely anyone even knows it exists.

The more you dick around with a piece of data, like doing compression and copying it, the higher the chance it will be corrupted.
