Ragnarok
I've decided after many years to finally try out Ragnarok. I have no idea what made me not play it as I've played nearly everything. But anyway its one of the few games I have no clue about and I am going to start on Ymir, no idea what class or anything.
Anyone willing to mentor or join.
Edit: now im not sure ill go to ymir because it seems so unpopulated. Someone should tell me a good server too.

Ymir is a good server and the population is just fine. Ymir on average has around 2k players and that is a good size of a full server during Chaos/Loki server days before merge.
Valkyrie is fine too and the only reason it has so many players is because of bots. There's too many of them. You're also limited with only using Kafra Warp in Prontera (the main city). I like Ymir because the size is just fine as it is.
I could play Ymir again (I'd have to download the game) and help you out. I've been playing the game since beta, so that's about 7 years under my belt. Things have changed with the Renewal patch with class nerfs and class buffs, but it's nothing too drastic.

If it helps any, you can have a great time in Ragnarok with even less than 500 players. Just less of a market in that case.

Im currently playing, on ymir. i wouldnt mind helping ya out with leveling and what not if ya do end up on that server.
the population ussually on each at any given time is
ymir: 1000 average
valkyrie 3000 average
yggdrassil: 1000 average
keep in mind that ymir has basically no bots/spammer. while ygg and valk are heavily botted.
also ymir character creation event still going on... so better time then ever to get into ymir.

haha i can try, but im dead broke now thanks to buying a 100mil rideword hat and a 50mil +10 quad hunterfly main gauche for leveling.
still got a fair ammount of decent gear i used to level as a knight in my storage.
then again its only a matter of time till i find another raydric/alice card for more zeny lol

WoE. The server-wide Guild vs Guild PvP system where you fight over a period for ownership of one of the castles in the game that would place your guild's logo in the town for all to see.
I dunno if I'm up for playing RO yet again, I'm curious how leveling is with the Renewal system now. Depressed the 3rd class Alchemist doesn't have anything to boost the homunculus, always wanted to make an Alch with a Vanilmirth, though I loved my old hybrid Knight and battle Priest back in the day where you had 99/50.

love ragnarok but the economy is never really fun with the merchant class i just wanna play an assassin

it is a bit late to start ro... sigh... you're probably only going to get 20% of the fun you could have had, had you played it at its peak. still a good game nonetheless
and anyways the whole woe metagame has changed compared to pre-re :/ less intensive and also less team-oriented pvp

I kinda like what Renewal did to the game. It's nowhere near as hardcore as it once was, but it's still quite fun.
Though i think my early days on Loki were still the best.
Granted I've changed a lot myself anyways. Used to be going Archer or Thief was a sure bet, but now I can't stand either.
Anyways, gonna give merchant a go (I think, but they look like pillows as a merchant). Names Miyu~. Kinda tempted to go Super Novice...

They scrapped the first Ragnarok 2. The new one is more like a 3D Ragnarok 1 apparently.

I would go back and play ragnarok but I think i'll never return because there's a small majority of elitists, guild leaders and hardcore enthusiasts who think they're the best at pvp or woe with their mvp cards and god items (like Megingjard, Mjolnir or Sleipnir). The mmorpg world would be a better place if there were more people like you Aimee, who play ragnarok for fun only and not competitively. Just my 2 cents, hope i didn't put anyone off playing, have fun.

remember that the exp u are getting right now is because the 2x regular and 3x for vip players exp boost now till the 26th so if u are gonna level do it within the next week.
