I like it the boxy look is nice also it loads perfectly fine for me.
I was under the impression forums got first priority.
^ Yep. Also, way too much stuff going on in a single page.
The "boxy" style suits it, of course it looks better, however mmohut has had that style for quite some time now and they made a better job with it. Take a look at their main page; it's clean and organized and incredibly user friendly.
That being said, onRPG = forums.
looks pretty cool, though the little boxes in the Newest MMORPG Articles could look better, the Oct 24 MMO news, seem a little out of place from the rest.
LeagueofLegends-ChuckleButt
it reminds me of the front page of mmohut.com lmao
Reputation: 195I'm not a big fan of it to be honest, there is way to much content/scrolling for the front page.
I have done a quick 5min mock up of what I think would work better (notice the amount of scrolling I have reduced and how much cleaner it looks just by re-adjusting the layout).

Good feedback guys we are watching this![]()
Reputation: 51I like the boxy style. The colors are just okay to me.
Reasons why the mmohut design is better:
- More consistent style in the boxes: rounded ends, white border, text with coloured background, and it's repeated so it becomes part of the theme
- Different sections are better organised, almost color-coded even. This is why our design looks cluttered. The images within each box seem to take up the foreground, so there are clashes all over. With the text+colored background overlay on the mmohut page, the individual game images take more of a background, supporting role, so it's easier on the eyes. Also, text is much bigger and clearer, making identification much easier. Gamers who aren't familiar with each individual game are much less likely to recognise by a game's character/concept art.
- Ads that aren't stretched
The giant buttons for different categories definitely need to be resized / cropped to something smaller. It's takes up too much vertical space.
Our font also seems less clear, and I'm not a big fan of the black gradients, they're rather lukewarm and 'meh'.
Reputation: 366Since I barely ever visit the front page I don't really care but it is better than the previous versions.
Reputation: 1151Yeah, I'm another one that never looks at the front page (I just stick around here because I love all of you) but it looks nice to me.
I like how it has the previews in the boxes, kinda like the playstation blog. Its nice to be able to attach a picture to something and let you know a little about it before you click it. Walls of text are just too intimidating for most. And, unless you know what you're looking for, its not very appealing.
This setup allows for people to quickly navigate. Me likes.

1) faster load (big + from me)
2) color scheme is nice
3) doesn't seem as crowded as before
Cons
1) repositioning of links (threw me off for a second there lol)
can't think of anything else~ :3
I never visit the front page.. but now that you mention it.. it looks better then it used to be.
I want a new forum. Something that looks clean and cut that makes you say: "Man, this forum looks awesome."
But the front page looks nice. It's not a big cluster of things put together, making it hard to navigate. This is much cleaner.
Its nice, but it still seems very cluttered, I think it needs to borrow a little more from Metro UI. I still miss the old brown and blue forum design personally, I wish it was still an option.
Reputation: 64I like it, looks a bit to similar to MMohut tho.
Reputation: 366While I like this "narrower" style in the forum I really hate those ads. Especially when they are click-able not simply pictures or something.
finally more ads in the forum...and such BIG ones!
AWESOME! =O
frontpage: so...many...pictures...
This is VERY uncomfortable and awkward. . .
