What is some of the best advice you've been given?

I know we all use some kind of guidance from others, be it a quote or saying or etc..

Heres a example.

Way back when i was going through relationship difficulties, someone on here sent me a message, it wasn't chastizing me or anything. All it said was "On the bad days just remember you love her.
I was slow to take it as /advice/.
but then
I guess the worst advice is always the best advice.
Cause the very next day i was in a argument, and that popped into my mind. Common sense most people can call it i suppose, but when you're in the heat of the moment you think very little for rationality in a argument.

I was going to say something, but it came into my mind, and i stopped myself from arguing further, things went way smoother.
Pretty amazing advice, that i will heed for the rest of my life actually.
