Star Supremacy, potential to be leading browser RTS game?
So I've been playing the game and it has actually surprised me. It's got me hooked for a much longer time than most RTS games. It's based in a space setting...in-game music is catchy. It has a lot of features most RTS games don't have.
Features include:
- Instead of creating a variety of creatures to help fight for your colony/civilization, Star Supremacy allows you to recruit a commander to help lead the fight. You can recruit more commanders as you upgrade your buildings. You can create fighter ships to assign to your commander(s) and send your commander (with its assigned fighter ships) to various "resource nodes" (places where you can raid or capture to gather resources). Resource nodes vary in level and each resource node has NPCs that you have to kill to successfully raid or capture that node.
- You have the ability to capture a "resource node" so that you have temporary ownership over it and can gather resources from that node over a period of time. That time will never run out until another player comes and kills your commander.
Those are just some of the few things that stands out in the game but it's an RTS that forces players to earn their way in the rankings. Your commander(s) can lose energy unless you give them a potion to bring their health back up so you have to work your way through. You are rewarded for everytime you login to the game and for logging in for a long period of time as well as for completing quests.
Overall, very good job to Barbily Games for bringing out a game like Star Supremacy. I'm still playing it. It's a game you can do stuff on and go afk but it's very addicting and the devs are fast to react to problems on the server. Great potential to compete against games like Call of Gods, Caesary, and Travian (and any other RTS games).
